Voluntourism is on the rise all over the world! Travelers increasingly want to do more than drink, eat, and explore. They want to help the surrounding communities of the locales they're visiting.
Below is an amazing example of this! The charity was started by 3 siblings who visited the Dominican Republic last year and discovered an urgent need at Pink House in Santo Domingo, DR. Pink House is an orphanage that provides health care, housing, education and job training for orphans afflicted with HIV. Many of these children are refugees from Haiti. They throw these beautiful children a Christmas party every year and cover the cost of ALL of their HIV medication for the year. As you can imagine, the need is ongoing. They are above goal for next year but costs of medication are constantly rising. These kids and newborns will need this help every year.
If you're so moved, please give to help this noble work and/or share this post to give even more people the opportunity to do so. Thank you!
