Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the Georgia Aquarium (225 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313) is only 250 miles from Charlotte NC. Just a quick 4-1/2 hour drive, this makes a great day trip!! The Georgia Aquarium is the world's largest aquarium with more than 8.5 million gallons of marine and fresh water, housing more than 120,000 animals of 500 different species. Make sure to see the "DolphinTales" dolphin show that is included in the price of your ticket. Aquarium hours vary so be sure to check out their website, http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/plan-your-visit/ ahead of time so you don't miss anything!!

Wow...what a beautiful place! Bald Head Island is a 4-hour drive from Charlotte (to Southport, NC) to the Ferry terminal. The passenger Ferry is about a 20-minute ride down the Cape Fear River to Bald Head. Once on the island, the tram will take you to your final destination or you can rent a golf cart for the day to explore the island (cars are not allowed on the island, only golf carts). Make sure to keep an eye on the time and have a copy of the ferry schedule - the last one off the island is at 11:30 pm!

Tiger World is located in Rockwell, NC just a short drive from Charlotte. Here you will get a chance to visit up close the Lions, Tigers and Bears, oh my!! Tiger World is a non-profit facility that cares for animals who can no longer live in their environment, whether it is the circus, as pets or in the wild. Your admission helps pay for the welfare of these animals. Visit Tiger World to support their efforts and see these amazing animals at play!

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in located just outside of Charlotte in Belmont, NC. They celebrate Winter each year with the Light Festival from mid-November through December 31st. It is a walking tour through the Garden grounds and even includes the Orchid house! They even sell coffee and hot chocolate to keep your hands warm!

Savannah Georgia is only 4 hours away from Charlotte! Enjoy the great history of the city with a walking or trolly tour. Hear more about the deaths and hauntings of Savannah on a Ghost tour after sunset. Check out River street to do some shopping along the Savannah River. Visit Tybee Beach for some sand between your toes...just across the bridge and 20 minutes from Savannah. Enjoy!
