Let’s talk about budget airlines:
Specifically, Allegiant.
I flew to Orlando Sunday- slightly delayed (45 min), but here nonetheless. Flight was smooth, staff was nice- but not the most professional flight crew I’ve ever encountered. We really liked lip gloss application, chewing gum like a cow chewing cud, and chatting with our other flight crew besties.
Flights were about $400 cheaper than American, per person, for my dates booked.
Overall (so far-sitting at the gate waiting to board):
👉🏼Would I fly with them again? If the cost was significantly less and I absolutely had to.
👉🏼Would I recommend? Probably not. I miss the amenities of CLT and larger airports, and it was a further drive to Concord/USA and Sanford-Orlando/SFB.
🥃There ARE in flight refreshments and drinks available for purchase. Typical airport pricing.
🛜 There is NO WiFi on these planes. 😵💫
🧳Bunding and preselecting your carry-ons and checked bags when booking is the cheapest rate. It doubles at the ticket counter. Sometimes it’s cheaper to book the full bundle (and get priority included + seat selection) than just paying for a checked bag plus airfare.
💺Seats are assigned unless you purchase your seat at booking. This is typically a nominal fee. Seats felt as if 4 inches were taken off the width. You’re literally sitting cheek to cheek. 🍑
Some people love it- it just was not for me. I like my frills.
