I am a self-taught artist. From a very young age I recall the pure satisfaction of expressing myself through art. When I was 17, I gave my heart to Jesus. At that time, I had never heard of the concept of creative worship, but I loved to worship and I loved His Word. I remember vividly the day I heard the Lord whisper, “come sit with me and do art.” As I pulled out materials, turned on worship mus
ic and began to talk to Him, He took my hand and helped me create something completely inspired by Him. From that day on I was totally in love with spending time with him in this way! Painting with the Holy Spirit has allowed me to take spiritual and emotional concepts that seem outside my realm of understanding and express them tangibly with canvas and paint. It helps me to recenter my focus on Him. Being a “prophetic artist” hasn’t always come easy. We often want others to see the best of us in whatever we do but our art is an expression of what’s inside of us and a piece of who we are. This can be a raw, vulnerable experience! I really hope my testimonies and vulnerability through my artwork will bring so much more than just looking at something that is cool or beautiful. I pray that my artwork will leave a memorable image in one’s mind and heart. To bring enlightenment and will help people process their emotions, circumstances, and see how God is working in their life’s. To come out saying “I heard from God’. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of sharing my art and my heart with you.
