WOWWEEE, 50 WHOLE WEEKS OF WRITING HUH?

Well shmack my behind and call me a Chattanoogan, ‘cause we’re officially coming up on the one year anniversary of Chattynooga tomorrow!

Thank y’all for tagging along in our silly quest for belonging, connection, and showing that it just takes a little bit of showin’ up for others every week in order for the crazy cool things to turn out.

The beauty of slowness and intentionally building with folks just like y’all has allowed us to practice this super cool term by known as “unreasonable hospitality”, but I think of it as just bein’ a great neighbor instead of a good one. Knowin’ what folks enjoy, what they don’t, and maybe what might bring a little spark into their eyes when their day is feelin’ a little gloomy is what we love to see within our community, and the City of Chattanooga doesn’t get any better of a place to put that into practice.

We can’t wait to see ya at Becaffeinated downtown tomorrow if you can make it (and if you can’t, no hard feelings at all!). If you’re just hearin’ about us or seein’ this, head over to our link in bio to RSVP or subscribe for future issues to come!

Why hey there pals!

It's a bit of a short notice postin' on our socials, but if you haven't heard. our lil’ local love letter to Chattanooga is officially turning ONE, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by hangin’ out with the folks who've made this dang thing possible. 🧡

What started as a simple question along the lines of, “Who can we make friends with and annoy with our questions along the way?" has somehow turned into a whole year of community-fueled stories and projects.

Truly wild if ya think about it.

So next Tuesday, February 10, we’re throwin’ a casual hang at one of our favorite spots, 's Northshore location! We’ll have the space to ourselves to sip, snack, and finally put some faces to names.

Come for a few minutes or stay awhile, ain't no pressure either way!

We’ll also be sharing a little sneak peek of what we’ve been cookin’ up with Roundabout North Chatt, Chattanooga's new community platform built for locals, by locals. 👀

Potluck snacks are optional but always encouraged, and it makes for a fun colorful spread of everyone's favorite foods! Good company is required (luckily, you’ve already got that part covered).

RSVP through our Link in Bio so we know how many pals are swingin' by. We’d really love to see ya! Otherwise, we can't wait to catch up on another Monday. 🫶🏻

Heya friends, it’s time we came out of our winter hidey holes and said hello, especially when we’ve got a brand spankin’ new issue out today!

This week, we sat down to chat with Steve and Shirley, the owners of Steve’s Toys Plus in Hixson, Tennessee!

These two young souls have quite a talent for packin’ as many toys and toy-adjacent thingamajigs and thingamabobs into one shop as possible, and yer pal Bubby got first dibs of talkin’ to em in this Chattynooga EXCLUSIVE coverage.

That ain’t all we got for ya though, oh nononononono. We also got:

- Our weekly local events roundup before we drop it anywhere else
- The scoop on ’s 2026 Reading Challenge if ya missed it yesterday
- And a lovely winter poem by our Jack of all trades writer,

Finally, we hope you’ve taken this MLK Day to reflect on how far we’ve come as a community, and where you can contribute towards making it great everyday. All it takes is a dream sometimes. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏿

Well y’know what they say, “Ya can’t rush perfection.”

With that outta the way: WELCOME TO 2026, CHATTANOOGA! 🎉🎊

We got all sentimental and booted up a little look back at where we started and where we are now goin’ into a new year together. There’s just somethin’ about listenin’ to the roar of that dial-up tone and the built in patience that comes with it, I tell ya.

We’ve had oodles and oodles of fun the past year with y’all, and we cannot wait to see what’s in store for us (and you readin’ this!) as we catch up with each other when we can.

Whether it’s a quick heart react onna post between meetings, a new issue that we plop straight into yer inbox (tucked neatly on top of all yer spam so you can see it of course 💌), or at a get-together around town, we look forward to catching up with you soon in the new year!

Now go on and git to bed (Meemaw said I have to so y’all do too so I don’t miss anything cool 🙄).

🔴 IT’S SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY WEEKEND IN CHATTANOOGA, PALS 🫶🏻 🔴

Every year this day rolls around right after those big thanksgivin’ feasts, and every year I’m reminded just how mighty our little city feels when folks show up for one another when the holiday shopping season begins right after.

From bagel bakers, book slingers, tattoo artists and plant whisperers, vintage curators and handmade makers; y’all are the heartbeat of the Scenic City that keeps this fall day cozy and full of love. ❤️

Today we’re sendin’ out a HUGE (slightly delayed) Chattynooga-style hug to every small business that keeps this town cozy and full of giggles. Thank you for opening your doors, sharing your gifts, and buildin’ community through a cup of coffee, a stitched seam, or whatever joy you’ve found passion to share with others.

If you’ve snagged a lil treat, hollered “hey there puppy!” to a shopdog, or even just peeked inside a local storefront for some window shoppin’ this weekend — yer helpin’ keep a dreamer’s lights on. Ain’t that somethin’ beautiful?

Here’s to the makers, the doers, the wishers, the risk-takers, the tide-turners, and the folks who keep Chattanooga glowin’ brighter than those Aurora Borealis we saw earlier last month!

Keep taggin’ us in your finds at , and keep on shoppin’ small, ‘cause we’re mighty proud of our community of underdogs. 💪🏻🏬

Well hey there, neighbors 👋 How we doin’ on this lovely lil’ Thursday?

Y’know, we’ve always said good things grow when folks slow down long enough to talk to each other, rather than rattlin’ on.

That’s always been theheart behind Chattynooga: sittin’ on the porch swappin’ stories, sharin’ a cup of coffee, and cheerin’ on the people who make Chattanooga feel like home.

And wouldn’t ya know it, our porch just had some remodelin’ done. 👀

We’re downright tickled to share that we’ve teamed up with the fine folks at , a nonprofit dreamin’ up a better way for communities to gather online, to help launch Roundabout North Chatt.

Think of it like a public corner of the internet specially for our community to gather: A calmer, kinder space built by locals (that’s us!), for locals (that’s y’all!). Neighbor’s can share what’s goin’ on, celebrate each other’s wins, and stay intentionally connected without all the fussin’ and fightin’ of big social media.

We’ll be invitin’ the first round of community builders from Soddy-Daisy, Red Bank, Hixson, and Middle Valley to help shape this space before it opens to everyone real soon in 2026.

If yer heart’s in this community and you’ve ever wanted to help make it stronger, now’s your chance, friend.

Hop into the link in our bio to sign up for the waitlist, and pass it along to a friend who you think would love to join!

Happy Tuesday, November Neighbors!

While there’s a ton of events happenin’ this week all o’er Chattanooga that’re kickin’ off the beginning of the month, we wanted to showcase another important part of November: Food, and sharin’ it with others.

We’ve been seein’ all of the mighty work that everyone’s been doin around Chattanooga to step in and help one another: Food banks doin’ double time, businesses actin’ as beacons to drop off supplies, and local organizations and grassroots groups rallyin’ together to make sure yer all focusin’ on meetin’ everyone’s needs in yer zones of expertise.

That’s the power of community in action. And we wanna help amplify those efforts where we can across our lil’ piece of the internet by sharin’ all the resources available from everyone, so folks can have it all in one place when it comes to Chattanooga.

So we’ve started buildin’ the Chattynooga Patchwork Food Network, a community-sourced directory of drop-off locations supporting food banks, food drives, discounted or free items from local businesses, and more.

The best thing? It’s about as easy submittin’ a resource as it is writin onea these statuses. We’ve got about 35+ resources already, but we’d love if ya helped expand it to cover every corner of Chattanooga 🫶🏻

Share with your friends, family, or your third cousin Bartholomew if it’d help ‘em out, or they got anything that they’ve seen that they wanna share! ❤️
