Chesapeake Regional Medical Center was honored to have Virginia's Governor Glenn Youngkin and Secretary of Health and Human Resources, John Littel, visit with us to discuss our plans to serve the behavioral health needs in our community. From this vantage point in our new sixth floor, we could envision the construction of our behavioral health beds, could see the walls going up on the new 196,000-square-foot VA facility on our campus, and view the building which will house our out-patient behavioral health services. With the combined efforts of federal, state, and city leaders, CRMC will continue to provide innovate healthcare for our citizens - with the right help, right now. As a family law firm, WLG is sensitive to the great needs in behavioral health. We work with entities like CRMC to better serve our clients in times of crisis and toward a path of wellness.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I post a reminder every year about the importance of getting mammograms and early detection. October is infant loss awareness month. While we don't reserve our memories to one month per year, this month is time to reflect. My son would have been twenty years old this year. Milestones in the lives of my other children often make me ponder the "what ifs." The passing of another decade softens the grief, but doesn't eliminate the tears or the soul's pangs of sorrow.
If you know a parent who has experienced the profound loss of a baby, with the pain of empty arms and unfulfilled possibilities, take a moment to let that mom or dad know that you are thinking about them and that you remember - such act of compassion and respect is comforting.
