Chicago’s underground lived in the clubs, but its voice traveled through the airwaves. This next location shaped an entire generation of DJs, dancers, and dreamers.

From this building, the legendary Hot Mix 5 broadcast mixes that would define Chicago house. And at the center of it all was — the biggest house DJ of that era and one of earliest inspirations.
These mixes ignited his curiosity, influenced his sound, and helped spark the energy that became Cajmere and later, Green Velvet.

This next location was a haven for the city’s youth, creatives, and misfits. It’s where future legends cut their teeth, where shaped the sound of a generation, and where hand-delivered early Relief and Cajual promos to the DJs who would break them first.
It’s also the former home base of —now the talent buyer for AURIS.
