😅 We're joking about the drama, but not about the answer. If a client insists on furnishing their STR entirely with Facebook Marketplace finds, that's not something we'll do.
It's not about snobbery. It's about performance. A "great deal" on a couch or bed frame means: no warranty, no idea how it holds up to guest-after-guest use, no durability testing, and no guarantee it survives more than a few turnovers.
We've seen it firsthand, furniture that looked fine in photos but fell apart, tore, or broke mid-stay. One issue like that can cost you a 5-star review, a refund, or worse.
Furnishing an STR isn't just decorating a space. It's sourcing pieces that are comfortable, can handle constant use, guest wear, and still perform months (or years) later, while still looking good in your listing photos.
The upfront cost of quality sourcing is almost always cheaper than the cost of replacing furniture, managing bad reviews, or losing bookings.
That's the real difference between decorating a home and designing a short-term rental.
