I am beyond heartbroken. Charlie Kirk demonstrated leadership by example in all facets of his life. I will forever cherish the time I got to spend coaching him as a young man in high school. His sincere curiosity and inspiring commitment to growth were attributes I knew would take him far in his life pursuits. His fearless nature and contagious personality suited him well playing quarterback.
He had the opportunity to compete with and train next to Jimmy Garoppolo in our clinic and approached that opportunity with the same passion all became accustomed to seeing in his career. It was such an honor to teach him the skills and drills, that he loved with every ounce of his being.
We stayed in contact over the years as he continued to have a positive impact on this world in ways that are truly hard to put into words. I will forever hold our last phone call near and dear to my heart.
Charlie continued to be an avid football fan and we had just discussed plans for attending a game together. He said he wanted to get back to a couple sessions to throw his favorite corner route again and shock our current students with his ability! I have no doubt he is doing that right now up above.
Please join me and the entire Throw It Deep family in lifting up Charlie and his family in your prayers. We cannot change what happened, but we can change the course of this country by following the leadership he demonstrated for us all.
