✈️🌎 The ABCs of Travel! F is for First-Time Travelers! 🌎✈️

Planning your first big trip can be SO exciting… but there are definitely a few things you don’t know until you’ve done it! 😂 Here are a few tips I always recommend:

✨ Give yourself more time than you think you need. Airports, transportation, checking into hotels, and simply finding your way around somewhere new can take longer than expected.

📱 Keep important information easily accessible. Save screenshots of confirmations, addresses, tickets, and reservation numbers so you can still access them if Wi-Fi or cell service is spotty.

🧳 Don’t overpack your itinerary. You don’t have to see everything on your first visit! Leave some breathing room for exploring, relaxing, or stumbling across something you didn’t plan.

💵 Know the little details before you go. Things like tipping customs, transportation options, resort fees, passport requirements, and what’s actually included can prevent some not-so-fun surprises.

❤️ And remember — even experienced travelers have things go sideways! A delayed flight or change of plans doesn’t have to ruin the adventure.

Your first trip should be something you’re excited about, not stressed about. That’s where having a travel agent in your corner can make a HUGE difference! 😉✈️

Excursions give you a chance to experience a destination beyond your hotel, resort, or cruise ship. Think:

🌊 Chasing waterfalls
🍴 Tasting local food
🚤 Boat tours & water adventures
🐬 Wildlife encounters
🛍️ Cultural experiences & local markets

And excursions definitely aren’t one-size-fits-all! Some travelers want adrenaline and adventure 🤩 while others would much rather enjoy a scenic tour, great food, or a relaxing day on the water. 🌅🍹

✨ Travel tip: Don’t wait until you arrive to start thinking about excursions! Popular experiences can fill up, and planning ahead helps make sure your must-do adventures actually make it onto the itinerary.

They may not be the most exciting part of vacation planning…but having the right documents can make or break your trip! 😬✈️

Before you travel, make sure you’ve got the essentials covered:

🛂 Passport — Check that expiration date EARLY! Some destinations require your passport to be valid for months beyond your travel dates.
🌎 Visas & entry requirements — These vary depending on where you’re going, so don’t assume your passport is all you need.
🪪 Identification & payment — Keep your ID and important cards secure but accessible.
📱 Travel confirmations — Flights, hotels, transfers, tours and reservations should be easy to pull up when you need them.
💊 Important information — Keep prescription details, emergency contacts and other need-to-know information handy.

Throwback Thursday to May 2021 ❤️

My boys and I took a trip to Alaska to visit family, and one of my favorite memories was visiting Barbara Falls with my mom, Barbra. 🏔️❤️

At the time, it was simply a special day in a beautiful place with people I love. Now that my mom is in Heaven, these photos—and this entire trip—mean more to me than I ever could have imagined. 🕊️

It’s a reminder that travel is about so much more than where you go. It’s about who you’re with, the memories you make, and the moments you don’t realize will someday become priceless.
