Think you need weeks in one place to embrace slow travel?

You don’t.

As Renee Hannes of Dream Plan Experience explains in this clip, slow travel isn’t necessarily about how much time you have.

It’s about what you do with the time you have.

It’s traveling with intention.

Following your own interests instead of someone else’s must-see list.

And asking yourself one question that I absolutely love:

How do I want this trip to feel?

Renee and I dig much deeper into all of this in the full episode, including how to embrace slow travel even when you only have a week or two, why leaving room for the unplanned matters and the joy of returning to places you already love.

Because revisiting a destination doesn’t mean having the same experiences again.

Sometimes it’s your chance to peel back another layer.

First time in all my visits to St Andrews that I’ve actually put my feet in the North Sea! 🌊

👣 Bare feet.

West Sands.

☀️ Sunshine.

And surprisingly, the water wasn’t too cold!

But what a 😍 beautiful day.

Sometimes happiness really is this simple. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌊

There’s something about these days in St Andrews. 💙

Long walks through the fields.

Wandering along the Fife Coastal Path.

Views across the sea, rolling hills in the distance and those wide-open 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish skies.

And we’ve had some beautiful days for it — sunshine, cool breezes and the kind of weather that makes me want to just keep walking.

No agenda.

No need to rush anywhere.

Just putting one 🥾 foot in front of the other and soaking up the views along the way.

I’ve walked many of these paths before, but I never seem to tire of them.

Maybe that’s part of why St Andrews feels so much like home to me. 💙🤍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

After years of traveling around 🇪🇺 Europe, there are a handful of things I find myself telling travelers over and over again.

Every country is different.

Distances can be deceiving.

And Europe isn’t just famous cities — it’s also home to some of the most beautiful mountains, coastlines, forests, and national parks you’ll ever experience.

✅ Those are just 3 of the 10 helpful things I wish more travelers knew about Europe.

In this week’s podcast episode, I’m sharing lessons I’ve learned over years of exploring the continent.

They’re the kinds of things I wish someone had told me when I first started traveling in Europe.

And I hope they’ll help you plan a trip that’s more enjoyable, more realistic, and ultimately more rewarding.

Sometimes the best thing you can do while traveling is slow down.

There can be so much pressure to keep going…

To see one more 🏛️ museum, visit one more neighborhood, or tick one more attraction off the list.

🇫🇷 But today in Paris, with the temperatures climbing, I decided to do something different.

I found a shady spot beneath a tree in the Jardin du Luxembourg, kicked my feet up, opened a good 📖 book, and simply stayed awhile.

It reminded me that this is also part of travel.

Watching families, friends, travelers, and locals come and go.

Feeling the breeze.

Listening to the sounds around you.

Giving yourself permission to just be.

Sometimes that’s when you experience a place in the most meaningful way.

👉 So here’s your gentle reminder…

It’s okay to slow down.

In fact, it might just become one of your favorite travel memories.
