A shout-out to the Price Hill Historical Society & Museum! 👏

I’m preparing for my tour of St Lawrence Church on Saturday, Sept. 5, and have been looking back through all the fascinating stories I was able to uncover about the church and the Price Hill community thanks to their fabulous archives.

Local historical societies are such incredible resources, and I’m so grateful for all the work they do to preserve and share our community’s history!

Can you identify this mark? 👀

I found what looks like the same maker’s mark on two Cincinnati church statues from the 1890s. I have a possible German lead, but the mystery isn’t solved yet.

I’m excited to be partnering with The Angelico Project for their 2026–27 season!

The architectural tour series begins in September, and I’ll be leading many of this season’s one-hour architectural tours, offering an introduction to the history, art, and architecture of some remarkable local sacred spaces.

My first tour will be in November, with several more to follow throughout the season. I’m grateful to be part of such a wonderful lineup and excited to share these spaces and their stories with you!

Sometimes I get so caught up in dates, architects, stained glass, statues, and old parish records that I forget to say this:

Sacred Heritage Tours isn’t really about buildings. It’s about the people whose stories are held inside them. ⛪️❤️

The immigrants who built churches that reminded them of home. The families who donated windows in memory of someone they loved. The artists and craftspeople whose work still surrounds us more than a century later. The generations of parishioners who worshipped, learned, celebrated, and grieved in these spaces.

That’s my favorite part of Sacred Heritage Tours—finding those stories and getting to share them with you.

There is so much Cincinnati history hiding inside our churches. 🔎✨

Thanks so much to both groups on my Holy Cross - Immaculata Catholic Church tours today! I loved sharing stories about the art and architecture of this special building but especially loved hearing your stories about your ancestors who lived on The Hill!
