The end of an era.......
Having served the educational student tour and affinity group tour markets from coast to coast for three decades headquartered in Clarksburg, WV, it is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the closing of our business, American Destinations, Inc. (ADI). We have done our best the last two years to avoid permanently closing our doors; however, it became just too financially overwhelming to overcome the non-existence of travel for such an extended period of time due to the unprecedented circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic.
THANK YOU to our exceptional staff! Over ADI’s 30 years in the tourism industry, the company had a dedicated, caring staff who put their hearts and souls into their work and served clients with professional and superior customer service. We feel our staff was one of the key reasons ADI retained customer loyalty from Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Pierre Part, LA and San Francisco, CA to Irvington, NJ for up to 10, 20 and 30 consecutive years. We were family at ADI and educational student travel was our passion. We may not have been one of the largest, but we took great pride in being one of the best tour operators in America. Having a hand in shaping our Nation’s youth through hands-on learning was priceless.
THANK YOU to our long term suppliers for meeting the high standards we set and for providing high quality, cost effective goods, services and experiences. Your willingness to negotiate with ADI assisted us in offering very economical tour packages for groups across the United States.
THANK YOU to our immensely valued clients for your business! We were fortunate to work with thousands of wonderful group leaders and their groups over the years. We express our deepest gratitude for the trust you placed in American Destinations, Inc. as your preferred tour operator. Tremendous praise goes out to our student group leaders who went the extra mile to provide travel opportunities for their students to have experiences they otherwise may never have had during their young lives.
THANK YOU to our many charismatic, detailed and knowledgeable Tour Managers over the years, for your commitment to go above and beyond for clients and strived to work in harmony with group leaders and motorcoach operators to offer the best tour experiences possible.

THANK YOU to our lenders who graciously supported ADI through financial hardship when the company faced a significant decrease in travel because of the horrific events of 9/11 and the Afghan and Iraq Wars that followed. If not for your genuine concern for our company and belief in our mission of helping to reduce our Nation’s high school dropout rate through educational travel experiences, the company would have had to close its doors years ago. We would not have had the opportunity to positively impact thousands more and continue for many more years to show students that The American Dream is available to everyone!
We are so very thankful to have had such a rewarding and exciting career that never felt like a “job”. Friendships made will be forever cherished. It may be the end of an era but the memories will last a lifetime.
