Alternative energy sources are everywhere in California. They do have the sunshine and wind for it.
Once off the main roads, it’s a dream riding through the hills & mountain ranges. Even though the state is suffering from a drought, there were some very pretty waterfalls. Lake levels were low and there were signs of wildfires. Considering all that, the riding was great – in particular crossing through the Giant Sequoia National Monument. This section of road is comparable to the Tail of the Dragon. Lots of corners and beautiful scenery.

End of the tour. Unfortunately due to an electrical issue with my bike I had to miss the last day. I'm flying home and will return to pick up my bike once repaired
John rode on to view the Pacific Ocean, after which he's returning to Colorado and then home.
He has been a great riding companion, lots of fun and laughs and we're very pleased to have been able to show him this wonderful country. More to follow.

Wide open horizons, rugged gullies and amazing rock formations made today fantastic. A stop at 4 Corners was a great start to the day.
Riding through monument valley and seeing the bright colors and rock structures made this a fun day. We stopped off for lunch and a chance to see the “Wind Talkers” display in Kayenta along with the interactive village showing the construction of the hogans and how the Navajo people lived. Well worth a visit.
Finished the day with a relaxing dinner while watching the sun set.

Starting to climb as we get into some nice twisty roads and start to see some wildlife. Of course, we stopped to see the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and made some new friends.
Further west, while gassing up we spotted some deer just hanging out in the stream next to the gas station.
If you get a chance, stop in to the "Chili Line Depot" restaurant in Tres Piedras. Great food and the women running the place are very entertaining.
We got to Durango, on opening day of the 4 Corners motorcycle rally. Lots of bikes and chrome.
