This tight squeeze starts you off in a low crawl through a bath tub of water, then sends you into a sideways "slither" with your arms in front of you. You bend forward then backward like you're being pulled through a taffy stretcher. Finally, you drop into a pool of peanut butter mud and immediately you are surrounded by massive pristine formations.

My all time favorite cave.

Took my ten year old son caving today. He's really got a knack for it. He led the way in and out. A good few water crawls, a pretty tight squeeze through a flowstone waterfall, and he wanted to take a video to prove we made it. This is his second cave and already he's a bonafide caver. I couldn't be more proud.

Among my preferred caves is this lesser-known location, which spans a couple miles through extremely narrow passages and culminates in expansive showrooms adorned with exceptionally well-preserved formations.

This exemplifies cave conservation efforts. This is why locations are kept secret, as we strive to prevent every cave from suffering the same degradation as Howard's.

Sometimes the squeezes are the most rewarding. The sights on the other side are almost always the best part of the cave. Just remember to never explore a cave alone.

Crinoids are marine animals belonging to the phylum Echinodermata and the class Crinoidea. They are an ancient fossil group that first appeared in the seas of the mid Cambrian, about 300 million years before dinosaurs.

Early crinoids looked like undersea flowers, with root-like feet, a segmented columnar stalk, and feathery arms at the head which could filter and toss floating food towards the mouth.

A full fossilized Crinoid is incredibly rare to find. More commonly you'll find them in segmented pieces, like the ones I've found here. Though, the amount of segments in these two pictures, absolutely mind boggling.
