MELANIN QUEENS 2027 IS HERE!!!

We made a very intentional decision about Melanin Queens Take Napa 2027.

We’re only taking 25 women.

Not because we couldn’t make the group bigger.

Because we don’t want to.

We want this trip to feel intimate.

The kind of trip where you actually know the women you’re traveling with.

Where brunch turns into conversation.

Where somebody knocks on your door because everybody is heading downstairs.

Where you start the trip knowing a few names and leave with new numbers in your phone, new inside jokes and a group chat that probably isn’t going anywhere.

💡 Here's a real hack that will definitely save you some money!

Google “[CITY] guest card” before booking your hotel.

This is especially useful in Europe.

Some destinations give overnight hotel guests a complimentary destination card that can include local buses/trains, museums, cable cars, attractions or discounts.

The catch? Your accommodation may need to participate.

So before choosing between two similarly priced hotels, ask:

“Does my stay include a complimentary city, guest, visitor or transportation card?”

Hotel A and Hotel B might both cost $200 a night, but if Hotel A includes transportation for your entire stay, Hotel A just became the cheaper hotel.

That's the kind of travel math we like. 💅🏾✈️

SOMETIMES…WE STAND OUT.

Depending on where we’re visiting, we may look different from the local population.

Add the suitcase, camera, confused look at Google Maps 😂 and our fabulous vacation outfits… sometimes it’s pretty obvious that we’re tourists.

And unfortunately, tourists can be easy targets for scams.

That doesn’t mean travel scared. It means travel SMART. ✈️

Here are a few things to remember:

🚕 Never ask a rideshare driver, “Are you here for me?”
Anybody can say yes! Match the license plate, driver’s photo, vehicle, and information in your app before getting in.

🏨 Don’t believe “your hotel is closed.”
A driver may tell you your hotel is closed, overbooked, or unavailable—and conveniently offer to take you somewhere else. Contact the hotel yourself.

💳 Watch the amount AND currency before tapping your card.
Don’t let anybody rush you through a payment screen.

🏧 Don’t accept help from strangers at an ATM.
If something doesn’t feel right, cancel the transaction and find another machine—preferably at a reputable bank.

📱 Be careful with random QR codes.
Scammers can place fake QR stickers over legitimate ones. Verify before entering payment or personal information.

🎟️ Be cautious of overly “helpful” strangers at ticket machines and tourist attractions.
Need help? Look for official employees or go to the official ticket counter.

🌐 Use official government websites for visas and entry forms.
A website appearing first in a search doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the official one.

👜 If someone suddenly spills something on you or causes a distraction, secure your belongings FIRST.
Sometimes the distraction is the scam.

And here’s the BIGGEST one:

🚩 DON’T LET ANYONE RUSH YOU.

“Pay now!”
“Come with me!”
“Your reservation has a problem!”
“You need to do this immediately!”

Pressure and confusion are two of a scammer’s favorite tools.

Stop. Check your surroundings. Verify the information yourself. Then make your decision.

Being aware doesn’t mean being afraid.

We are still going to explore.
We are still going to meet people.
We are still going to laugh, shop, eat GOOD and experience the world. 🌍🙌🏾

We’re just going to do it with our eyes open.

Because the goal isn’t just to travel more…

It’s to travel SMARTER. 💅✈️

Some places are beautiful because of what you can see.

Others stay with you because of what you feel when you get there.

Bali has plenty of beaches, pools and sunsets worth crossing an ocean for.

But the temples tell another part of the story.

They remind you that the island people come to for rest and beauty is also home to traditions, rituals and sacred spaces that have shaped Balinese life for generations.

So yes, take the pictures.

Just leave a little room to actually be there too.

Bali deserves that kind of attention.

And maybe we do too.

Save this for Bali. 🌺

1. Pura Lempuyang
The famous Gates of Heaven, with Mount Agung in the distance. Beyond the photo moment, Lempuyang is one of Bali’s major sacred temple sites.

2. Pura Ulun Danu Beratan
The temple that appears to float on Lake Beratan. It is dedicated to Dewi Danu, associated with water, lakes, and rivers.

3. Pura Tirta Empul
Known for its sacred spring and purification rituals. This is a particularly strong choice for XTD because it lets us talk about Bali as a living culture rather than simply a beautiful backdrop.

4. Pura Luhur Uluwatu
Sitting roughly 70 meters above the Indian Ocean, this is the dramatic cliffside temple associated with Bali’s famous sunset Kecak performances.

5. Pura Tanah Lot
One of Bali’s iconic sea temples, sitting on a rock formation offshore. This would make a beautiful sunset slide.

6. Pura Agung Besakih
Known as Bali’s Mother Temple, this sacred complex sits on the slopes of Mount Agung.

One of our favorite things about booking early with XTD is having time to pay for your trip little by little.

You lock in your spot, make payments over time, and watch that balance get smaller while your excitement gets bigger. 😂

By the time the trip comes around, you’re not trying to come up with the entire cost at once.

You’re just packing your bags for something you’ve already been looking forward to for months.

Because traveling doesn’t always require having all the money today.

Sometimes it just requires planning ahead.

Travel math: book the trip so early that by the time you go, it basically feels free. 😂✈️

Hear us out.

Bali is about 9 months away.

You book now. You make payments over time. Life keeps moving. The balance keeps getting smaller.

Then May 19 comes around and suddenly you’re packing for Bali thinking, “Wait… I already paid for this.” 😌🌴

That’s our kind of math.

You don’t always need to have the entire cost of a trip sitting in your account today. Sometimes the move is simply giving yourself enough time to pay for it without making your bank account mad at you.

And nine months gives you time.

Time to make payments.
Time to plan your flight.
Time to get excited.
Time to figure out what you’re wearing. Because somehow that becomes its own expense. 😂

Then you get to Bali and the trip money is old news.
