The beach renourishment in Cape Canaveral is done and we’ve got a BIG beautiful beach again!

They’ve moved south towards the Pier so hopefully they’ll be removing the pipe soon.

🛩You'll want to be here because the Cocoa Beach Air Show is going to make it LOUD all weekend July 12-13!

It's always a blast on the beach all weekend including the Friday practice and performances all Saturday and Sunday with this year's headline performer, the F-22 Raptor Demo Team. Here are a couple of shots from the last show in 2023 including the F22!

Another new restaurant opening in Cocoa Beach The Grilled Chee & Crab Cake Co

They’re located on the north end of downtown Cocoa Beach right before the Kelly Slater Statue at the split next to Dunkin’ Donuts.

They have several offerings you’re just not going to find elsewhere around here including Build Your Own Grilled Cheese as well as many options for a crab cake sandwich. They also have burgers, Build Your Own Mac, & we hear some great cheesesteaks. We tried the Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich & the Crab Melt seen here

Their first location is in NJ so they have some things a little different like the Cuban Grilled Cheese which has pork belly instead of pork & ham that sounds interesting as well and we hear is popular in Jersey.

For a small restaurant they have quite a bit on their menu, more than you see here on the board, so check out their menu online for the rest.

They don’t have a local social media page so you can follow their main page at The Grilled Cheese and Crabcake Co. Hopefully they’ll start one soon just for Cocoa Beach so we can follow local posts and check in, so we used Dunkin next door for the location

Lunch at Coasters Taphouse. These guys have been around a few years but they’re under new owners including a friend of ours formerly from Paddy Cassidy’s. They have HUGE sandwiches like this Turkey Club, & they have the “good” sweet potato fries, as well as entrees and starting tonight live music.

They’re in the north Publix shopping center so they’re really close and they stay open til 2am with food til 1:30 if you have those late night cravings.

🌀LATERGRAM. The backside of Hurricane Milton was still on top of us in the morning but nothing stops 🏄🏼‍♂️🏄🏼surfers! They’ve been enjoying the waves since.

Made it through and so far still have power, but the backside needs to get out of here!

Please remain indoors. The City is currently experiencing strong wind gusts from the backside of Hurricane Milton. First responders have pulled back and are staying indoors. Please stay off the roads even as the winds begin to die down so that Canaveral Fire Rescue and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office can conduct initial damage assessments without hindrance. We have reports of power lines and trees down and malfunctioning traffic lights. The roads are not safe to be on right now.

🚀FALCON HEAVY LAUNCH ALERT!

October 10 is the schedule date for the Europa Clipper that will take 6 years to get to Jupiter's moon Europa where it will study whether the suspected ocean beneath Europa's icy crust might be suitable for life. After launch this spacecraft weill head to Mars for a gravity assist in February, back to earth in Dec 2026 for another gravity assist, and then head towards Jupiter with an arrival in April 2030!

Regardless, we'll hopefully get to see the big Falcon Heavy launch next month because if they miss this 3 week window they'll have to wait over a year for the planets to align again to make this trip.

Liftoff remains scheduled for Oct. 10 from Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. It will take six years for Europa Clipper to reach Jupiter.

🦐We went a little shrimp crazy with their Shrimp Cuban and Spicy Shrimp Poke. Plus one of our favorite musicians Jeff Marquis Music was playing. Even on a gray day it’s hard to beat the views at Grills!
