🌲🐟 SALMON, The Heartbeat of the Pacific Northwest 🐟🌲
Okay… the deeper I learn about salmon, the more I realize they are SO much more than “just fish” 🤩🌊
Salmon have helped shape:
🌲 forests
🦅 wildlife
🌊 rivers
🐻 entire ecosystems
…and the cultures of the Pacific Northwest for thousands of years.
Bears, eagles, otters, forests, rivers, and even the soil itself all benefit from healthy salmon runs.
That’s honestly kind of incredible when you stop and think about it.
These fish travel hundreds of miles, return to the rivers where they were born, and continue a cycle that feeds and supports life far beyond the water itself.
Nature is wildly interconnected 🌎✨
This graphic came from my:
🌿 Jarae’s Nature Nook series, (full slide deck in comments ⤵️)
where I’ve also been exploring:
🐝 pollinators
🌲 communicating forests
🍄 fungi & mycelium
🌿 medicinal plants
🌸 wildflowers
…and ..
The more I learn, the more awe I feel for the living world around us 🥰✨
Stay curious. Stay connected. 🌲
There is wisdom in the wild. 🌿
