Six months ago, I planned and booked an Umrah trip to Saudi Arabia from the US, for a family of six, including four young children. We also added a three-day fun trip to Dubai to the itinerary.
The travel dates were in the last week of March. Just days before their departure, the situation in the Middle East began to evolve, and flight schedules became uncertain. Some flights were canceled while others continued operating.
As a travel advisor I stay informed, monitor the flights, advise my clients, and ensure they feel supported every step of the way. This was truly put to the test as the situation unfolded.
The family still wished to proceed with their Umrah journey. It required careful coordination. Some flights needed to be canceled and others needed to be rescheduled. Hotel stays needed to be rearranged.
These changes required many hours of coordination, working closely with the airlines to identify the best possible options, always keeping the family’s safety and comfort in mind.
I canceled the Dubai trip. I reorganized all other components to align smoothly for their pilgrimage. It was all done without adding any additional expenses for the family.
Alhamdulillah, the family was able to complete their Umrah and returned home safely after a smooth and successful trip. It was rewarding to get feedback on how amazing their trip was. I am grateful to have been a small part of their spiritual journey.
