We are in sea turtle nesting season here in the northern Outer Banks. We’re anxiously awaiting the first nest of the season.

As a reminder, if you see a nesting turtle or turtle tracks, contact the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles or N.E.S.T. So they can send volunteers to protect it. Their hotline is 252-441-8622.

I can’t believe that I still have June 11-15 open for reservations. We had a cancellation, so you have a chance to stay at a beautiful 2BR/1.5BA home in the Currituck 4WD area while still being conveniently close to Corolla and all the shopping, restaurants, and attractions on the paved road.

The family is growing! So happy to see our wild horses back on the beach. They winter in the marshes where there is more food.

Spring is in the air. Our first truly hot day today brought the horses to the beach. We can’t wait to share our little piece of paradise with our guests this summer.

You never know what you’ll find! This juvenile seal came to Swan Beach for a visit. Our local Marine Mammal volunteers diligently looked after him, making sure he got the rest and care he needed.

I heard my caretaker saying I should be ready for many different guests this year (there is time for more). I look forward to all of them. It has been a long winter, I am ready to meet some new friends.
