Do you ever have tourist regret? I made up the term, but let me explain.
Amanda did A LOT of research, and hours on the internet leading up to our Prague, Czech Republic trip last year. We thought we had covered the city really well and had seen everything we could squeeze in during a three day period.
It wasn’t until this week that she was listening to an audiobook that takes place in Prague and learned that there is a ventilation shaft to an old bunker under a park that was reasonably close to where we were touring. When the bunker had to be closed for safety reasons, artists painted the shaft to look like a giant R2-D2….and if that wasn’t enough, as she read more about it, she learned that they added a giant Minion in 2022!
She says that in all the research, she never saw anything about it, because it would have been the first thing we did when we got to town. She has tourist regret…..and that means that we need to go back to Prague, which is actually one of our favorite cities in Europe (so going back isn’t really a hardship!).
