If you’re looking for some Christmas hints or stocking stuffers for your future world traveler, here are a few suggestions (some big, some small, some obvious, some not so much).
· A payment or two. Instead of another video game or pair of shoes they already have in a different color, how about a monthly payment? Every traveler has a donation link for their account that can be used to make direct payments.
· Luggage! Remember, we are a “carry-on” only crew so nothing big (22x14x9), and it needs to roll.
· Daytime bag – a belt bag, small backpack, neck wallet.
· A portable charger – a veteran move for travel.
· A 10’ or longer charging cable…sometimes the hotel or airport outlets are not conveniently located.
· Universal plug adapters – a necessity for European trips.
· If your traveler is concerned about their cuteness, a European curling iron or hair straightener may be the way to go. Your American appliances will not work
even with a power converter… think lots of sparks and some tears.
· A travel journal. Old school, actual paper.
· A medium weight all weather jacket or lightweight rain jacket that can be stuffed away.
· At least two pairs of good, comfortable shoes. When your smartwatch starts alerting that you’ve reached your fitness goal by 400% for the day, you must be on a student tour.
· TSA approved toiletry bag. Do you know the rule?
· Un**es and socks.
· While most have amazing quality cameras on their phones these days, small digital cameras are all the rage right now.
· While we’re talking about phones, depending how much phone data you want them to have abroad, maybe someone wants to pay for an international phone plan for the trip. They run around $12 a day with most big carriers.
· CASH…spending money is a solid gift. How much? It depends on your kid. How much do they eat, how much do they like gelato or coffee, and do they like to shop?
