🚨 A pregnant manatee… a male manatee… AND an alligator between us and Three Sisters! 😳🐋🐊

Today was one of those days on Kings Bay where you just never know what you’re going to see!

We were very close to Three Sisters Springs when I was lucky enough to find a large pregnant female manatee with a sub-adult male hanging around her.

Male manatees are known to follow reproductive females, and scientists believe chemical cues play a role in how males locate females. Exactly what signals they are responding to is still being studied.

And then there was the unexpected part… 🐊

An alligator was between us and Three Sisters Springs!

So within this one area, we had a pregnant manatee, a male manatee, an alligator, and the incredible Three Sisters Spring system all in the same encounter.

This is exactly why I love being out on Kings Bay. Every trip is different, and nature doesn’t follow a script.

One dolphin missed the catch…
Then BAM — a second dolphin came flying in and stole the fish like a straight-up ocean assassin. 🐬💥🐟

These are the kind of wild moments you can’t plan and definitely can’t fake. Every trip out here turns into its own nature show with surprises around every corner.

Today on Kings Bay we had a friendly alligator hanging out like he owned the place… while the manatees were getting a little too comfortable with each other right beside the boat. 🐊😏
