This is a great year for viewing the Northern Lights because of intense solar flare activity.

The aurora may be visible in these Northern US states this weekend.

If you are wanting a higher chance of viewing the Northern lights , there are tours and cruises that go much farther north.

Auroras may be visible from Alaska to Illinois as an incoming solar storm could spark geomagnetic storm conditions this Labor Day.

The artists at WETA Workshop make so many props and creatures from movies that you've seen. They are most famously known for their work in the series.

Increasingly in our travels, we encounter tourists who are disrespectful of local places and cultures. We have seen people trespass into private gardens, harass endangered wildlife by touching them and lying down next to them, stand on arched roofs of historic churches (Santorini), and climb over guard rails -- just to get that perfect selfie.

We should all strive to be respectful travelers, understanding that we are just visitors in these special places. Your selfie should not cause damage or injury to other people or animals.

I'm actually very impressed with this G Adventures video - they actually make it a point with their tour packages to encourage guests to be respectful, and do good in the places that they visit.

What a refreshing and inspirational core value!

Gentoo penguins are adorable and have quite amusing personalities! They live in the Falklands and South Georgia, eating krill and shrimp. How cute are these two?

What an amazing experience we had on our Antarctica cruise with .

We were able to visit the west Falkland islands, home to gentoo, rockhopper, and king penguins, as well as blackbrowed albatross. The landscape was hilly, but surprisingly reminiscent of Hawaii, with 'tropical' white sand beaches. We met hospitable Falkland locals who treated us to delicious afternoon tea.

Had an amazing voyage on board the MS Fram to the , , and . Beautiful landscapes, rich wildlife, so many penguins!!

This was our first expeditionary voyage to Antarctica (on our 3rd visit to Antarctica), and it was majestic.

The beauty of raw nature in black, white, and deep glacier blues... Will be sharing more from our unforgettable voyage!
