School is back in session, but the weekend is just getting started! Whether you’re looking for a night out downtown, live music, fresh local finds, or a fun way to get moving, there’s plenty to add to your weekend plans!

🛍️ Night on the Town (Thursday)
Kick off your weekend a little early with Night on the Town in Downtown Waxahachie! Enjoy extended shopping hours from 5–8 p.m. at participating downtown businesses, along with sips, in-store promotions, special deals, and plenty of local charm.

🎸 Live Music Around Waxahachie (Friday & Saturday)
The music is playing all weekend long! On Friday, catch Brady Hulsey live at Cork House Winery (7:30–10:30 p.m.). Then on Saturday, enjoy Aldridge at Southern Roots Brewing Company (7–9 p.m.), BarnCatz bringing their Rock ’n’ Blues jams to the Railport Stage, and The Java Llamas live at Cork House Winery (7:30–10:30 p.m.). Grab a drink, gather your friends, and enjoy some great live music around town!

🥕 Waxahachie Farmers Market (Saturday)
Start your Saturday with fresh finds and small-town charm at the Waxahachie Farmers Market! Shop farm-fresh produce, homemade baked goods, local honey, handcrafted goods, and unique artisan treasures from local vendors. (9 a.m.–1 p.m.)

🏃 Texas Heat 5K, 5 Miler & 1 Miler (Saturday)
Ready to get moving? The Texas Heat is back at Getzendaner Park! Choose from the 5K, 5 Miler, or 1 Miler and kick off your Saturday with a little friendly competition and plenty of Texas heat. The races begin at 7 a.m. and registration is open online!

Turn up your weekend with live music around Waxahachie! Railport Brewing Company has Paul Renna on Friday, Dakota Ragsdill on Saturday afternoon, and ADLRIDGE Saturday evening, while Cork House Winery welcomes Dixie Moody on Friday and The Hankins Band on Saturday. Plus, keep an ear out for more live music at venues around Downtown Waxahachie throughout the weekend. Grab your friends, find a spot, and enjoy great music, drinks, and local atmosphere!

🚗 Waxahachie Fun Run Car Show (Saturday)
Rev up your weekend at the Waxahachie Fun Run Car Show at Getzendaner Park, presented by Midlothian Classic Wheels! Stroll through rows of classic cars and trucks, meet fellow auto enthusiasts, and enjoy a family-friendly day while supporting Texas Baptist Home for Children. (8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.)

🏍️ Honor Our Heroes Motorcycle Ride (Saturday)
Ride for a cause this weekend at the MW22 Foundation’s Honor Our Heroes Motorcycle Ride at Railport Brewing Company! Join fellow riders as they take a therapeutic ride through the beautiful back roads of Ellis County, in support of local mental health programs and the people who need to know they are never alone. (12–5 p.m.)

📚 North Texas Indie Bookstore Crawl (All Weekend)
Calling all book lovers! The 2nd Annual North Texas Indie Bookstore Crawl is underway, and this year Waxahachie is part of the adventure! Pick up a passport and visit Paper Leaves Bookstore, Wandering Bookstall, and The Wyrd and Wand Archive to collect stamps while discovering some of our community’s unique independent bookstores. No purchase is required for a stamp, and each bookstore you visit earns an additional entry into the crawl’s prize raffles! The fun continues throughout August, with even more participating stops across Ellis County and North Texas.

Join in on the magic with Dumbledore's Army Scavenger Hunt through downtown Waxahachie (12–7 p.m.) featuring magical surprises, themed activities, and exclusive merchandise. Then, keep the celebration going at the Harry Potter After Party (7–9 p.m.) at The Wyrd and Wand Archive for an evening of enchanting fun with fellow fans!

⚾ DFW Youth World Baseball Classic (Friday – Monday)
The 3rd Annual DFW Youth World Baseball Classic returns to the Waxahachie Sports Complex this weekend, bringing together teams from divisions 6U through 18U for four days of exciting competition. Grab your glove, cheer on the players, and enjoy America’s favorite pastime!

🎨 Community Art Exhibition (Friday & Saturday)
Celebrate local creativity at the Community Art Exhibition in the Dunlap Reading Room at Nicholas P. Sims Library! Browse artwork created by talented artists of all ages and skill levels, discover new favorites, and support the creative spirit of our community. Admission is free! (9 a.m.–5:30 p.m.)

📚 Bloom & Pour Story Night (Friday)
A community storytelling night where YOU can tell a story! This month’s theme is "HUMBLE PIE"; come hear surprising and true stories of humility and humiliation, or even sign up to tell your own! Reserve your spot for free – featuring a signature drink from Bloom & Pour, pies by Tiverton Bakeshop, and Paper Leaves Book Mobile parked out front! (6–9 p.m.)

All bikes are welcome at Bike Night with the North Texas Servant Souls RC!
