Controversial opinion: booking your own vacation online doesn't actually save you money. It just moves the work to you.

I see it all the time. Someone spends hours on Expedia or Google Flights comparing prices, picks the "cheapest" option, and doesn't realize they skipped a perk, missed a better cabin category, or booked a resort during a renovation.

The frustrating part? My services don't cost extra. In most cases — cruises, resorts, tour packages — you'd pay the same price booking with me. You just get an actual human being who knows what they're talking about.

I'm not saying DIY travel is wrong. I'm saying if you've got a big trip coming up, it's worth a conversation before you click "confirm."

You know how some people have "a guy" for everything? A mechanic they trust, a contractor who actually shows up, a doctor who really listens?
