For 17 months I've continued finding records, documents, witness information, and unanswered questions related to my son Adam Leisher's death.

That raises a simple question:

What is a sheriff supposed to do when new evidence comes in?

My son Adam Leisher’s death was quickly ruled a su***de.
But as I reviewed the records myself, I discovered major gaps, unanswered questions, and investigative steps that appear to have never been completed.
No full autopsy.
Missing records.
Unresolved contradictions.
Evidence issues.
And a case that was still closed.

The Sheriff's Office regularly recognizes employees with certificates, awards, and commendations.
That made me wonder:
Who evaluates the quality of a death investigation?
What standards are used?
What audits exist?
Who reviews whether all investigative steps were completed?

This Memorial Day, I'm remembering my son Adam Leisher.

Today I stood before the Board of County Commissioners again and asked the same questions I asked last month:

What oversight exists when a death investigation is closed without clear supporting documentation?

What accountability exists when families are left searching for basic answers?

Public trust does not come from simply funding agencies. It comes from transparency, documentation, and accountability.

Families should not have to spend months or years trying to determine whether basic investigative procedures occurred.

My son was Adam Leisher. And I will continue asking these questions until there are answers.

Sixteen months after Adam Leisher’s death, I am still fighting for records and basic transparency.

I filed a case connected to obtaining records from his investigation, only to later learn the case had been assigned the wrong case number and placed in the wrong court division.

That mistake caused months of delays.

Eventually, the judge formally recused herself because the case did not belong in that court division to begin with.

People do not see the administrative side of grief.

While grieving your child, you suddenly find yourself learning court procedures, filings, deadlines, hearings, records law, and legal processes just to continue asking basic questions.

Families searching for answers should not have to navigate obstacle after obstacle simply to obtain transparency.

But here I am.

I was outside looking at Adam’s grapes and berries today, enjoying a quiet moment in the garden, when I realized something:

Apparently one of these plants is NOT actually a dandelion. 😂

I’ve been looking closer at the leaves, stalks, flowers, and even the little thorn-like parts, and now I’m questioning everything I thought I knew growing up.

So… which one is the real dandelion?

I’m genuinely curious because I think I may have been picking the wrong plant this whole time.

Sometimes healing looks like court filings and investigations.

And sometimes it looks like standing outside in the garden, trying to learn something simple again.

Okay gardening people… help me out here. 😂🌱

Sixteen months ago, I was just Adam’s mom.

I didn’t know how to file motions.
I didn’t know how to request records.
I didn’t know how to read evidence logs, timelines, or statutes.

I learned because I had to.

When my son died, I expected an investigation.
Instead, I found myself trying to understand contradictions, timelines, missing evidence, and unanswered questions on my own.

The more I speak publicly, the more families contact me with stories that sound painfully familiar.
