Back on the road to take on the Tail of the Dragon!

Kevin Hammill, one of our 2026 Pavement Pounder Events road trip participants, recently tested the handling of his 2001 Chevrolet Camaro Brickyard 400 pace car on the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina.

After spending 50 years atop a sign, this 1956 Chevrolet 210 two-door sedan is getting a new lease on life!

Iron City Garage recently pulled the old sedan from the Ohio sign it had occupied for five decades. There is no word yet on how the Tri-Five will be rebuilt, but one thing is certain: It will be much better than leaving it perched atop a sign.

It has been about 10 minutes since we shared a post related to The Rockford Files, so we are long overdue for another one!

These are photos of Tom Kessler’s in-progress tribute to the 1976 Pontiac Firebird Esprit featured in The Rockford Files. While it is fairly well known that the Esprits used in the show were actually Formulas disguised as Esprits, fewer people know the gold paint was not a factory Firebird color. It was a custom shade inspired by a 1962 Cadillac that star James Garner had seen.

Before installing a new headliner in your car or truck, check out this kit from Heatshield Products to make the interior cooler and quieter.

The db Headliner Kit includes Heatshield Products liquid sound-damping material, which can be brushed or sprayed on to help reduce interior noise, plus Stealth Shield thermal-barrier material that fits behind the headliner to block heat transmitted through the roof. It is easy to install, will not interfere with headliner fitment and can make your next road trip much more enjoyable.

Looks like we’ll have to be on the lookout for Smokey in some new wheels during next year’s Pavement Pounder Events road trip!

Dodge has announced a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) version of the Charger for the 2027 model year, packing 420 horsepower and all-wheel drive. That promises to be a potent package for what is expected to be the only police sedan available in America.

Which GM non-Chevrolet B-O-P (Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac) big-block V8 was best?

Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac all chose 455 cubic inches for their large-displacement V8 engines, and all three had their own performance characteristics and peak horsepower ratings. Known as torque-generating brutes, they powered muscle cars as well as the heavy, full-size “land yachts” built by each division.

Which one do you think was the best?
