Heartbreaking news from Effingham, Illinois, after yesterday's destructive tornado. The Mid America Motorworks facility and museum took a direct hit and was pretty much destroyed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mid America Motorworks crew and the residents of Effingham as they begin the recovery process from this disaster. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18wnFcg8CD/

Most sweepstakes end when the prizes are awarded. This story was just getting started.

Congratulations to Bob Church (left), winner of the Centerforce Clutch Kit sweepstakes, and Phil Jacobs (right), winner of the TREMEC TKX 5-speed transmission sweepstakes during the 2026 Motor City to Wheel Hub Live road trip.

In a great example of the camaraderie that develops during these events, both Bob and Phil chose to pass their prizes along to fellow participant Jason Taylor (center) for his 1968 Chevrolet C10 project that we hope to see soon on future Pavement Pounder Events adventures.

A huge thank you to Tremec Transmissions and Centerforce® Clutches for providing these incredible prizes and helping create moments like this. We can't wait to see Jason's C10 on the road with its new drivetrain combination.

It's National Donut Day! They may be packed with enough sugar to put you in a diabetic coma, but there's no denying how tasty this things are! Plus they're a road trip friendly treat to start the day with when you're hitting the road. Hmmm...donuts...(said in Homer Simpson voice)

Here's a cool and unusual classic spotted recently — a 1957 Ford Ranch Wagon. With just two doors, these wagons were built more for cargo-hauling versatility than family duty. This one has been updated with modern suspension, braking and cruising upgrades to make it even better on today’s roads.

Here’s an interesting one spotted at the recent Bama Coast Cruisin’ show. This 1968 Chevrolet Biscayne now has a vintage Chevrolet NASCAR SB2.2 small-block that was originally built by Morgan-McLure Racing! The compression was dropped to just under 10:1 so it could use pump gas. The 200-4R transmission behind it runs a 4,200 RPM stall converter to help the high-winding former race engine work on the street.
