🛳️✨ Out of Office (and Out at Sea!) ✨🛳️

Just a reminder that I’ll be out of the office from May 31 – June 6 while my family and I set sail aboard the Disney Destiny!

I’m looking forward to a fabulous vacation with my husband and our two daughters — making memories, enjoying family time, and experiencing all the Disney cruise magic together. 💙

But if I’m being honest, the travel advisor in me is just as excited to experience it with YOU in mind! One of my favorite parts of traveling is gathering firsthand knowledge, tips, and insights that I can bring back to help my clients have even better vacations. From staterooms and dining to entertainment and little details that make a difference, I can’t wait to share more about the Disney Cruise Line experience when I’m back. ✨

If you reach out while I’m away, thank you in advance for your patience — I’ll respond as soon as I can! ⚓️

🦒🌿 Is Animal Kingdom a “half-day” park? The answer (that breaks my heart a little): Sometimes! 🌿🦒

This is one of those Disney questions where the answer really depends on your family, priorities, and travel style.

For some families, Animal Kingdom works really well as a half-day park. It opens and closes earlier than the other parks, and many guests can experience their top priorities by early afternoon.

It can also be a nice park to pair with resort downtime, a pool break, Disney Springs, mini golf, or even another park in the evening.

On the other hand, Animal Kingdom absolutely can be a full-day park if you enjoy taking your time. Between the animal trails, live entertainment, immersive details, and slower pace, many guests (including myself — I 🖤 Animal Kingdom) love spending the entire day soaking it all in.

One important note: This strategy is evolving. The addition of Bluey’s Wild World adds another family-friendly draw for younger kids, and the future Tropical Americas land will likely make Animal Kingdom more of a full-day destination for many families. As the parks change, the “best” touring strategy changes too!

The biggest takeaway? There’s no “right” way to do Animal Kingdom. The best plan is the one that fits your family’s interests, ages, energy level, and overall vacation goals — which is why personalized planning matters so much. 💙

Disney Destiny nails are officially ready! ✨

Getting into the spirit for our upcoming heroes and villains-themed cruise with nail polish inspired by a little bit of Cruella (we watched the movie this week 🖤🤍) and a little bit of The Lion King. 🦁👑

Now I’m fully prepared to sip a cocktail at De Vil’s Lounge and enjoy Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King onboard! 😄

Anyone else match their nails to their vacation theme… or is that just me? 😉

✨ Common Disney misconception: “Younger kids won’t enjoy EPCOT.”

I hear this one all the time, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. 😊 While EPCOT may not have the “little kid” reputation of Magic Kingdom, there is actually so much for younger kids to enjoy.

Here’s what surprises many families:

🛝 Play Spaces Galore
EPCOT has some fantastic spots for kids to explore and burn off energy, including:
• Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana – An interactive walkthrough experience where kids can explore and play with water (choose the wet path or dry path)
• Advanced Training Lab (in Mission: SPACE)
• Bruce’s Shark World playground
• ImageWorks: The “What If” Labs interactive stations
• Outdoor play spaces throughout the park

🌍 World Showcase Fun
The countries aren’t just for adults! Kids can enjoy:
• Kidcot Fun Stops – Little activity stations where kids can collect cards and learn fun cultural tidbits as they “travel the world.”
• The interactive Disney DuckTales World Showcase Adventure scavenger hunt
• Entertaining performers and streetmosphere throughout the day

👑 A Surprisingly Great Park for Princess Fans
EPCOT is actually one of the best parks for meeting princesses! Plus:
• Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for a princess character meal
• Frozen Ever After ride in Norway
• Meet Anna & Elsa

🐠 The Seas Pavilion = A Hidden Gem
You’ll find:
• The Seas with Nemo & Friends ride
• A massive aquarium
• The hilarious and interactive Turtle Talk with Crush show

🎢 And EPCOT has many attractions with no height requirement, making it a great option for little ones.

The key with EPCOT is having the right plan and expectations for your family. If you’re wondering how to make EPCOT work for your crew, I’m always happy to help craft a park plan that fits your family’s ages, interests, and pace so everyone has the best possible day. It's all part of my complimentary planning services when you book your trip with me. 💫

✨ TRAVEL TIP ✨
Put one shoe in the safe along with your valuables.

Why? It’s surprisingly easy to forget to check the safe when packing up to leave. But you’ll definitely notice if you’re missing a shoe — and it’s the perfect reminder to grab your passport, cash, jewelry, or other important items before checkout!

✨🚢 Disney Cruise Line Staterooms: Which One Is Right for You? 🚢✨

One of the first decisions when booking a Disney Cruise is choosing your stateroom — and the “best” choice really depends on your travel style, priorities, and budget. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you decide:

🛏️ Interior Stateroom
Perfect for travelers who plan to be out enjoying the ship from sunrise to bedtime. These rooms are cozy, budget-friendly, and ideal if your stateroom is mainly a place to sleep, shower, and recharge between all the fun. A great choice for families who want to save a little and put more toward experiences.

🌊 Oceanview Stateroom
If natural light matters to you, this is usually my minimum recommendation. Oceanview rooms feature a large porthole or window, bringing in daylight and beautiful ocean views. It’s a nice middle ground for cruisers who want a brighter space without the added cost of a balcony.

💫 Verandah Stateroom
This can feel like a splurge — and sometimes it is — but other times, it’s surprisingly close in price to an oceanview room. Having your own private balcony means fresh ocean air, peaceful views, and the perfect spot for morning coffee, quiet downtime, or relaxing while the kids sleep after a busy day onboard. ✨

👑 Concierge Stateroom
If you’re looking for the most elevated Disney Cruise experience, Concierge can be worth considering. Along with upgraded accommodations, Concierge guests enjoy extra perks like access to a private lounge with snacks and drinks throughout the day, a dedicated sun deck, priority boarding and disembarkation, and earlier access to booking onboard activities, spa treatments, and port adventures. While definitely a splurge, many families say it completely changes the cruise experience. ✨

💡 My biggest tip? Think about how much time you’ll realistically spend in your room and how important natural light, private outdoor space, and added conveniences are to your family. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer — just the right fit for your vacation.

Not sure which stateroom makes the most sense for your cruise? I’m always happy to help you weigh the options! 💙

🚢✨ On the agenda this week: ALL. the. things! ✨🚢

We’re officially in Disney Cruise countdown mode over here, which means my week looks a little like this:

✔️ Double-checking our itinerary details
✔️ Packing (and trying out some new pirate-inspired ears 😆)
✔️ Making sure all of my clients’ trips stay perfectly on track while I’m away

If you have a trip booked with me and have final payments, dining reservations, or key planning tasks coming up while I’m gone — we’ve already been in touch (or will be soon) and have a plan in place. 💫

And if we’ve been chatting about an upcoming trip, let’s try to get things finalized this week so I can tie everything up with a bow before we set sail!

I am so grateful for the chance to make memories traveling with my family while also helping other families plan trips they’re excited about. 💝

This week, as I worked on a new way to share park-specific information for my Disney clients (in a mobile-friendly format!), something became really obvious to me...

✨ Helping people make sense of complicated things is what I do best. ✨

For 23 years in my corporate career, I worked as an instructional designer and learning consultant, creating online and instructor-led training to help clients and associates learn complex payroll, HR, timekeeping, and wage garnishment systems. My job was to take overwhelming information, break it down, and help people feel confident navigating it.

And you know what? That’s exactly what I still do today — just in a much more magical setting — as a travel advisor with Fairytale Journeys Travel.

Now, instead of payroll systems and HR processes, I help families understand resorts, dining plans, park strategy, Lightning Lanes, and all the moving pieces that come with planning a Disney vacation. I take what feels overwhelming and turn it into something manageable, exciting, and fun.

I truly enjoyed my corporate career, but helping families plan vacations full of memories is a lot more fun. 🥳

This work feels like what I was meant to do, and I’m incredibly thankful for the clients who trust me with their trips and let me be part of such special moments for their families. 💝

If a Disney vacation (or cruise) feels exciting and overwhelming all at once, I’d love to help you make sense of it all — and make planning feel a whole lot more fun. Feel free to message me anytime! ✨

🚢 Here’s why cruises just work…

Cruising is one of the most versatile, low-stress ways to travel — offering something for everyone in one seamless vacation.

Traveling with family? Extended relatives? Friends? As a couple? Cruises strike such a nice balance between quality time together and personal space.

✨ Families & multi-generational groups: Kids’ clubs, teen spaces, adult-only areas, pools, shows, and activities for every age make it easy to keep everyone happy.

💕 Couples: Think date nights, relaxing spa time, ocean views, and quiet spaces to unwind.

🍹 Friends traveling together: Shared meals, entertainment, excursions, and fun — without the stress of coordinating every single detail.

One of the best parts is the variety — multiple destinations in one trip, endless onboard activities, entertainment, and dining options — and the simplicity of unpacking just once.

Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, connection, culture, family fun — or a little bit of everything — there’s probably a cruise that fits your travel style better than you think.

From magical family adventures on Disney Cruise Line to the refined, destination-focused experience of Viking, plus popular cruise lines like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Norwegian, I help match travelers with the right cruise for their priorities, travel style, and budget.

Cruising can feel overwhelming when you start comparing ships, itineraries, cabin types, and cruise lines… but I got you! 😊

Thinking about a cruise? Tell me what kind of vacation you want, and I’ll help you find the right fit. ✨
