🚴‍♂️ Race organizers officially barred 65-year-old Gustaf Håkansson from the epic 1,764-kilometer Sverigeloppet race, claiming a strict age limit of 40.

🛠️ He built his own makeshift bicycle and wore a homemade jersey adorned with a large hand-sewn zero.

🌙 While the younger official competitors slept at scheduled stops during the nights, he kept pedaling through the darkness with almost zero rest.

🇸🇪 His incredible journey captured the hearts of the entire Swedish nation, transforming him into an instant national hero.

🏆 He crossed the finish line an incredible 24 hours before anyone else, earning the legendary nickname"Grandpa Steel."
