Agent education to headline ASTA Global Convention, CEO says
ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby says the upcoming ASTA Global Convention will have a stronger focus on training and education for travel agents. "We're focusing on the educational component first," Kerby said. One of the highlights of the convention will be a town hall event discussing the New Distribution Capability program being pushed by the International Air Transport Association. "Right now NDC is just a resolution, so it's impossible for people to understand. It's a big issue that has enormous ramifications for how agents share data, when they share data and how they will be compensated," Kerby said. TravelMarketReport.com

The first training session will focus on Microsoft OneNote. OneNote will replace all your sticky notes, papers and notebooks and allows you to organize them in a variety of useful ways. Gather images, screen clippings and anything else you cut and copy from the internet. Post notes to the web, share notes and collaborate with co-workers. These are just some of the features OneNote offers.
**Classes are suitable for all level of levels of computer knowledge.**

Senate votes to end air traffic furloughs
The US Senate late last night unanimously passed a bill to end the furloughs of air traffic controllers that caused thousands of delays at airports across the country this week.

As part of the sequestration effort to cut the federal budget, employees of the Federal Aviation Administration were asked to take one unpaid furlough day every two weeks, effectively cutting the number of air traffic controllers on duty by 10% each day.
