Please drive carefully. We’ve had lots of little friends crossing in front of us on the road lately. Our wild friends are all out looking for water and trying to stay cool.

THIS WEEK: We have a limited number of available spaces in tomorrow’s Independent Paddle Trips on the Lower Eno. We have spaces available in Saturday and Sunday’s Independent Paddle Trips (Saturday on the Lower Eno River and Sunday at Beaver Dam). We have spaces available in both Women’s Introduction to Paddleboarding and our co-ed Introduction to Paddleboarding on Sunday. All other trips and classes this weekend are sold out.

Just because you don’t see an Independent Paddle Trip listed on our calendar doesn’t mean one isn’t available. We can often work you in. Give us a call or text or shoot an email to ask! We were happy to get on the Eno River today with short notice.

As most you you are aware, Durham is currently in Exceptional Drought status, and I am sure that many of you have seen the scenes on the news and on social media of the rapidly lowering water levels on Falls Lake. You may or may not have heard that some boating access points on Falls Lake have been closed by North Carolina Wildlife Commission due to low water. This includes Hickory Hill access, which is one of our primary access points.

What does this mean for Two Sisters Adventure Company? In some ways this is providing us an opportunity to discover new locations to paddle and explore. For example, we have added some dates of Independent Paddle Trips at Farrington Point on Jordan Lake and the Beaver Dam Primitive Access (this location has no fees for entry). The low water landscape is a unique view to enjoy! We have been busy scouting new locations that provide us the quality experience you have come to expect from us.

This also means that as a small business we need your grace and patience. Conditions are changing on an almost daily basis in some cases. Trips may be taking place at a new location for you. Sometimes this may mean that your travel distance is slightly further than we hoped. We are also needing to keep our trip capacity smaller for some locations so that we can best use the water that we do have, this will mean that some trips will sell out faster than we expected them to.

Starting and running Two Sisters Adventure Company has always been more than a job or just a business for me. It is personal and all of you, our guests and community matter to me. All of this has been very scary for me personally. I am asking you all personally, to hold us in your hearts while we navigate this challenge and please, keep your fingers crossed for rain!
