Hickory Hill on Falls Lake in Northern Durham County is a shallow area of Falls Lake popular for wading birds. Common bird sightings here include Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Egrets (Great White Herons), variety of ducks, and Cormorants.

Back in October a group of extraordinary people gathered to tell Two Sisters Adventure’s story and what we have meant to them to a producer with PBS-NC’s North Carolina Weekend. Independent Paddling Trips provide the equipment while you provide the adventurous spirit. Our guides will not be on the water for you but will remain on shore to assist you when you need them.

The Lower Eno River joins the Flat River to form the Neuse River (and the headwaters of Falls Lake) in Northern Durham County. Here you can meander through flooded creeks and slip over mudflats. For those that are quiet it is possible to startle a Great Blue Heron or Osprey.

Our Women’s Introduction to Standup Paddleboarding class is designed to give women and non-binary paddlers the needed the basics of Standup Paddleboarding. These group classes are taught by women instructors and will have you on the water practicing as you learn the world of SUPing. Learn basic strokes and board safety and put your skills to the test while having fun. Join other women on the water as we learn together and foster a friendship over the love of adventure.

Class is open to ALL women and non-binary people who are comfortable in women’s centered programs.
