Ama Dablam (6,812m) is one of the most striking peaks in the Himalaya. Its name, meaning "mother's necklace," comes from its long ridges, said to resemble a mother’s outstretched arms, and its hanging glacier, thought to symbolize the dablam, a traditional pendant worn by Sherpa women.
Our trek to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,576m/15,013’) offers a quieter alternative to the more popular Everest Base Camp, providing a glimpse into the world of Himalayan mountaineering. Along the way, we pass through traditional Sherpa villages, visit monasteries, and take in breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse.
