Last evening in Ga***rd-

I got home from Lansing last night and made my way to Tree Tops Resort in Ga***rd this morning to attend the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) meeting (still happening at 4:30).

The room is packed with hunters from all over the state, and I’ve never witnessed this level of engagement with the NRC before. For hours, hunters have been passionately advocating for certain policies, each testimony reflecting diverse experiences, regions, and backgrounds. Notably, a generational difference is evident in the opinions surrounding approaches to deer management.

Every hunter is anxiously awaiting for the commissions vote to take place in the next hour or two.
