I just had the most amazing cruise onboard Seabourn Ovation! I am excited to share more about my Reykjavik-Dover itinerary.
First stop- the Blue Lagoon!
Stepping into the milky-blue waters of Iceland’s famous Blue Lagoon felt like entering another world. Surrounded by black lava fields and rising steam, it’s easy to see why this geothermal spa has become one of Iceland’s most iconic experiences.
What many visitors don’t realize is that the Blue Lagoon is actually man-made! The lagoon formed in the 1970s from mineral-rich water released by a nearby geothermal power plant.
Over time, locals discovered the water’s soothing properties, and today it’s become one of Iceland’s most beloved attractions.
With naturally warm waters averaging 98–104°F (37–40°C), a silica mud mask in hand, and dramatic volcanic scenery all around, it’s the perfect way to experience Iceland’s unique relationship with fire and ice. 🇮🇸✨
