Absolutely beautiful day today exploring the small town of Melk, Austria, day cruising through the Wachau Valley and making a stop in Weissenkirchen. The Melk Abbey is an active Benedictine Abby and the Wachau Valley is picturesque and known for some of the top producing wine vineyards in the country! Next stop…Vienna, Austria

In Passau, Germany today! Most of the group visited a Bavarian farm with dairy cattle and sampled their cheese and beer!...

In Passau, Germany today! Most of the group visited a Bavarian farm with dairy cattle and sampled their cheese and beer! The dairy farm was automated with what they called a “robot” to milk the cows and do other farm chores. This afternoon is free time to enjoy the Old Town area of Passau. Oh and for the record, a few of us sacrificed ourselves by staying up late last night to test the ships bar! Tough job but someone had to do it!

So when the bus breaks down at our travel stop, play cards, take a walk, enjoy the weather and find interesting goodies ...

Today is a wrap! Prague was amazing for all and tomorrow morning we depart for Passau, Germany to board the ship and begin our cruise down the Danube!

Part of our group did an excursion this afternoon to Terezin to see the concentration camp. It was an emotional and educational experience to see first hand this fortress that was originally built in 1780 to protect Prague from attacks and then converted in WW II to a Jewish ghetto where the N**i Germans promoted it being a safe haven from the war. Of course the N**is had ulterior motives. The Jewish members in Terezin were then sent to concentration camps in Poland.

For dinner tonight. A classic Czech goulash and potato dumpling dish!
