ThisDayFWD

ThisDayFWD We've modernized the traditional, full-length wedding video, and created a fresh, modern, artistic alternative that's easy to share with others.

ThisDayFWD allows couples to capture and share various parts of their wedding experience, making it easier and more affordable than ever to create your own personal wedding videos, or as we like to call them, "weddeos."

I may be out of work, but I’m not out of love. I LOVE hearing from my past clients! If you ever want to reach out, feel free to do so! I usually get a lot of “hey I forget the password to my video?” Typically it’s just “Name+Name” of the couple. (Cap sensitive, no spaces) I get SO MUCH enjoyment hearing that couples are still reliving these memories that I created. Sometimes I even rewatch these videos and say “how the F did I pull that off!?” Did you know how much magic went into creating YOUR magic? Here’s one secret I haven’t shared until now. 100% of my videos have at least one shot played in reverse! It may have been to better tell your story, or just for effect. No, I won’t tell you what shot, but rewatch and see if you can tell me 😉 Perhaps it’s a carryover trait from me actually being a magician in my prior life... did you know that either?! I still love YOUR love ThisDayFWD couples. And still to this day my iPhone autocorrects “welcome” to “weddeo”😆 I don’t go a day without thinking about my past couples. Please all stay safe - Stay in love. From This Day Forward, and forevermore.

Love? Check. Smiles and laughter? Check. Rain, doesn't matter. As the pastor says in this video, “the key to a happy marriage is a sense of humor and flexibility.” Jill and Andrew put that to the test when about halfway through their outdoor ceremony, it began to rain. The wedding guests made their way indoors, the bride walked down the aisle a second time, and the couple exchanged their vows surrounded by family and friends. The party started when they broke out cowboy hats and glow sticks, and guests kept the dance floor packed all night. Congratulations, Jill and Andrew!

Lauren and Steve met on a blind date that "never really ended." Two years later, they travelled to San Francisco, where Steve proposed at the Golden Gate Bridge. They exchanged vows overlooking the water at the Woodlawn Estate in St. Mary's County, surrounded by family and friends. Guests enjoyed goofing off in the selfie booth, exploring the beautiful grounds, and despite the summer heat, kept the dance floor packed. The couple is excited to begin the next chapter of their lives, and look forward to welcoming their daughter this fall. Congratulations, Lauren and Steve! (password: Lauren+Steve)

Five years ago it started with an idea. To be able to capture a couple's most important day in a modern, fun way, that they could share and relive over and over again.

Never did I think that over the years the business would have grown the way it did, or that friendships would emerge from this journey. One of the best feelings is when a past client reaches out letting me know they re-watched their video and still receive such enjoyment out of it. Those messages and really make my day (sometimes even my week). They are a reminder that I accomplished what I set out to do; to have successfully captured an important chapter; a start to a journey that they will always be able to remember and relive through my vision of storytelling.

Unfortunately, every story also has an end, and for ThisDayFWD, its journey will conclude in this Fall.

This would be much easier to announce if ThisDayFWD wasn’t being well received. But my splash of an idea for a compact, cinematic feeling of a wedding video rippled through the wedding community and somehow turned into a wave of interest in the past couple years. We’ve captured dozens of couples, but unfortunately have had to turn away hundreds and at the same time. There have been days, and many, many nights, when I wished there were five more of me.

This little business started out of passion, and over the years required me to insert more and more passion into every video. I feel I did that; I hope it shows. However, passion also equals time. Time away from friends, time away from family members, and time away from other memorable events. While I’ve truly enjoyed capturing all of these amazing couple's moments, I’m really looking forward to capturing more of my own personal ones with my family, and the only way I’ll be able to do that is with more free time.

So what does this mean for past and future clients? Past couples will still have access to their videos online at www.thisdayfwd.com as well as Vimeo. In the future (exact timing TBD), online videos will become password protected and those passwords will be emailed out accordingly. For future couples, nothing really changes. If anything, I’ve freed up more time this year to dedicate to your day and working on a tighter turnaround for your edited video.

Please know that I’m walking away with my head up high. I’m happy with all that I’ve accomplished and achieved, and I wouldn’t be feeling this way at all if it wasn’t for the feedback and support of all of you!

There is one bride I really must say a special thank you to. And that is the bride I said “I do” to. Caitlin Evans Rankin, you have been an amazing partner in this journey. The support you provided me to pursue a passion of mine is the definition of love, and I can’t thank you enough for that. While we close out this chapter together, I’m looking forward to the next.

Thank you all again for providing Cait and I this amazing opportunity to be part of your lives. We hope we were able to leave something special behind for you, your family and your friends, now and from this day forward.

For Melissa and Sam, their first love turned out to be “the one.” They began dating when they were teenagers, and exchanged vows on a beautiful day surrounded by extended family from around the world. Before the ceremony, they had a quiet moment to themselves during an emotional First Look (even if Mother Nature tried to blow things off course!). Two little guests briefly stole the show as the couple’s dogs stopped by for a visit. The bride and groom danced the night away, with Sam occasionally showcasing some impressive breakdancing moves. Congratulations, Melissa and Sam!

When Michael and Jessica Mroz first connected, she always seemed “too busy” to remember to schedule an actual date! However, Michael was persistent, and the happy couple said “I do” at Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel in Towson surrounded by friends and family. Guests had a great time goofing off in the photo booth and on the dance floor, breaking into a conga line and being shown how to do a proper dress twirl by the bride’s nieces. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Mroz!

Jess Strickland and Jack are the kind of couple you meet and instantly feel a connection with. They’re both so genuine, caring, and know how to party - their reception showcased some pretty advanced dance moves, including the legendary “Octopus Arms.” They wrote heartfelt letters to one another to read before the ceremony, and said “I do” overlooking the water at the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. As the sun set, guests danced the night away with the bride and groom. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Strickland!

Cara Ostopchuck and Steve were married on the water at the beautiful Glen Foerd on the Delaware in Philadelphia. The two first met in Atlantic City when they were both celebrating with friends, and the rest is history. They wrote heartfelt letters to each other, which they read before the ceremony, and both expressed how much they’re looking forward to starting their lives together as husband and wife. After they exchanged “I do’s,” the party started and guests celebrated by keeping the dance floor packed. On one of their dates, they recreated the famous lift scene from Dirty Dancing, and they didn’t disappoint when the song came on during the reception. Here’s to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ostopchuck!

Jennifer and Dexter exchanged rings at the stunning American Visionary Art Museum in downtown Baltimore, surrounded by friends and family. Although not all family members were able to attend, the Jamaican culture was honored and celebrated throughout the ceremony and into the evening as guests danced the night away. Experience breathtaking views of Baltimore from high above and cute moments of Jennifer anxiously waiting to say “I do!” It was a joyous, festive day, and they both shared how proud they are to finally call each other their spouse. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Phillips!
A very special thanks to Jamie Bender from J65 Productions that captured stunning aerial footage that showcases Baltimore beautifully, and worked as our second shooter.
