Happy Easter everyone! Today we were able to be with family at a restaurant for Easter brunch. We spread out in two tables of 5 and still did everything safely. But we appreciated just being able to see our family! The grandchildren, ages 1 -7, do so well. Of course the 1 yr old doesn't wear a mask but she sits well in her chair or with her mom and dad. We have missed so much of her first year. To be so close and not see her has been tough. I hope everyone enjoyed this day with loved ones. As Easter or just a Sunday :)

Last week we went on a date night at one of our favorite restaurants Provender Kitchen+ Bar in Ellsworth, Maine. They have just changed up the menu! I noticed they had a monkfish dish so thought maybe I should try it. I had no idea what to expect since it was the very first time I had had the chance to taste it. I have made a monkfish Halloween costume before but that is a whole different story :) Well I can not tell you enough how much I loved the dish! It may very well be my favorite dish there! Definitely tied for a favorite! We ended up having Lobster Rangoons, Monkfish and dessert. The drink was a Gin special but can't remember the name. They have creative drink names :) Highly recommended.

With vaccinations for Covid making their way to everyone we can only hope it's a sign times are changing for the better. We can more safely see our families. Go to support our local businesses easier. Enjoy the fresh spring air! Some have chosen to work from home permanently. Some of us just need to work outside of the home. Our poor pets wont know what is going on once the houses empty once again. Then there's the schools. My children are grown but one is a teacher and there are grandchildren trying to make sense of all the changes. It's been a tough year. We have lost people as have so many others. Take care of yourselves and others. Be safe.

Normally we travel a bit, in New England at least. We love taking a bike trip to new areas. This year of course that is not possible, without risks. I may have to go back into past trips to pass on information on things we have experienced. In our 18 years together. We have had lots of fun times. Some planned, some by accident ;) If anyone has something to share that could be fun please feel free to share it!

When we choose a place to eat we sometimes go over their web/pages. Get a feel for what to expect. Sometimes it's more fun just to wing it lol Entrances can be hard but once inside you try to get a feel for the rest. For us seating is very important. Being larger people if all the seats have arms it's not going to be as comfortable. Benches are fine for some, not for others. Silverware is a big one for me :) For example, Provender in Ellsworth has awesome silverware :) Another awesome place to eat in Bangor, not so nice... for me anyways :) I prefer them on the heavier side with a regular width point to the fork, not narrowed and tight. And Timber in Bangor has beautiful dinnerware/plates. I'm not a fan of mismatched at the same table. Coordinating is fine :) If it's eclectic decor of course we would expect anything! To each their own :) We all have our favorites! You don't have to travel far to enjoy yourself! Don't let the pandemic keep you from enjoying life.

August 13th we went to Provender Kitchen + Bar in Ellsworth for a date night before my husband went away for a few days. We have never been disappointed there. Gotta love a drink that arrives on fire :) The chef is more than willing to work with your dietary needs. They are doing outdoor dining for those who prefer that also. We actually saw my cousin's son out there celebrating his birthday on the way out!🥳🎈🎂 Stay safe everyone!

August has been a super busy month so far. The days just aren't long enough! The 7th was my husband's 60th birthday! Being a pandemic still I was unable to throw an awesome party :( I love having parties! So I had arranged for my 3 kids (his 3 are out of state :( ) and their other halves, and my youngest granddaughter, to join us at a restaurant that could meet all our dietary needs :) It's more challenging than you'd think, especially now. Just hours before we met up I found out that the place we had chosen had cooler issues and would not be open! So I was frantically seeing what was open and had the right menu. We ended up at 11 Central in Bangor and it was one of the best places we have eaten at! We really had no complaints! Food, service, atmosphere and all the details one looks for, plus necessary precautions for the pandemic. Amazing dinner. Highly recommend it! We had a very nice quiet birthday for him which I think he prefers :)

Over the weekend we spent a lot of time outdoors in the beautiful weather! We put roughly 450 miles on our Can Am Spyder. We drove around Franklin, Hermon, Bangor, Harrington, Milbridge, along Schoodic in the park and a bunch of other towns along the way. We went out for a wonderful meal at Timber Kitchen and Bar in Bangor, Maine. My husband's 60th birthday is this month so since we can't really have a big party we are just going to celebrate the whole month doing what ever we want :) On Saturday one of our granddaughters turned 7 and we had a very small outdoor party. My mother was able to come and enjoy it from inside. Our other granddaughter turned 7 months the 1st

Over 4 months ago the pandemic started and we were forced to quarantine. Luckily we both could work from home. We are now at a point where we can carefully venture out and about. I've been wanting to do a page about places we go and things we do for some time now so I have switched this page from Working from Home in 2020 to Our Adventures in Life. The biggest adventure being months of quarantine. I hope everyone stays safe. Be very careful even though people are thinking this whole thing is ending. Keep doing things we should be doing anyways! Wash your hands frequently. Sanitize. Just keep yourself and things clean! And keep your distance. And a mask can help. Be safe!

Thursday-Saturday. I am finding things are very busy and I just have not kept up on these posts. Work will now be a regular thing Mondays through Thursdays. This page will need to be renamed to include daily activities and such. Saturday was a beautiful day to take the Can Am out so we drove to our favorite fried clam place for lunch. It was beautiful and the food was delicious. I did go in to work for a couple hours. I brought home a project so I can try and get my hours in this weekend. People seem more relaxed lately. Hopefully it's not too soon.

Wednesday. (85 days home for hubby) Another 10 hour day at work for me. My days are much more productive there. No distractions like at home. If I want I can put headphones on and zone out. I love listening to music while doing anything really. I finished three projects and and starting some cute cafe curtains tomorrow :) Tonight we stopped at a new eatery called Wicked Munchies. It was pretty good. The menu definitely fit the name :) Looking forward to a quiet weekend!!

Tuesday. After 81 days of working at home I guess I should rename this page. We are back to full time and full crew. Next will be to take all the supplies back. I did get one armful back today. I only worked a few hours today. An appointment cut the day short. So we took the rest of the day off and had a really nice bike ride. We went about 45 minutes north and then came back and had dinner in Bar Harbor :) A local favorite tavern that has yummy haddock sandwiches. And they had pomegranate margaritas

Day 83. Monday. Today actually is Day 1 of going back to work. After 82 days of working from home or going in after hours . It was a good feeling. I missed my sewing machine, work table and am looking forward to weekends off lol. Started a drapery job. A patterned sheer with black out lining. I'm not a fan of seeing the lining seams. There should be another lining to hide them. They are over 100 inches long so is nice to have my big table and work space to work on them. I talked to our boss and she said everyone wants to work in the shop now so we are officially back to work. Except them. They aren't ready :) We wiil stil practice distancing and all the safety rules. Looking forward to a regular work week! Stay safe!
