Had a day off, so I rounded up the wife and headed to Beaver Lake. We absolutely put on a clinic this morning.

At first, Joy was flat-out whipping me. She had 8 fish in the boat before I finally got on them. After that, well...you can probably guess how the rest of the story went!

We worked those fish over using Pautzke Bait Company fire dye minnows, catching smallmouth, spotted bass, striper, over 30 catfish, and 6 walleye. We had everything cleaned up and headed home before 10:00 AM.

Those fish gave the Douglas Spinning & Casting Rods a serious workout today. I can honestly say it's been a hot minute since I've had to tell myself, "Alright, that's enough fishing for one day." Even with the overcast, glad I had my ShredFin performance hooded fishing shirt, them rays can still get ya!

Most importantly, I got to spend the morning on the water with my wife, and she absolutely kicked butt.

If you're looking to get on some catfish or walleye, give me a shout. These fish are on the move and don't stay in one place very long.

Trip #4 today was with guide Jim.

Guide Jim had the pleasure of fishing with father-and-daughter duo James and Katie today on the White River.

Katie struck first, putting a nice rainbow trout in the boat, but Mr. James wasn't about to let her have all the fun. His first fish of the day was a beautiful 16½-inch rainbow, followed by several more quality trout throughout the trip.

Despite Mother Nature sending plenty of rain our way, the fish cooperated (somewhat), the conversation was great, and new memories were made on the water.

Thank you, James and Katie, for spending the day with Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service. We look forward to fishing with you again soon!

Trip #3 today Sky had team girls, the other half of Mike Peoples crew. When we headed out we were talking big smack at team boys on the other boat. Todays bite was a tough one, now that the generators are working and the water is cold these fish are playing hard to get. It wont take them long to acclimate and be back on the bite. Using Pautzke Bait Company firebaits on Douglas Spinning & Casting Rods team girl did well and we ended the day tied with team boys. They will be having fish for dinner and enjoyed a beautiful day on the water. These folks are return clients and now have experienced both the good days and now a tough one. They stated the fish are just the bonus. Getting to enjoy the river with good company is what keeps them coming back. We shall see ya'll next trip

Trip # 1 today with guide Robert Kennedy

What a day on the water! 🎣🐟

The generators ran overnight, cooling things down and clearing up the water, and a light rain moved in to make for some fantastic fishing conditions. The fish were definitely in the mood to cooperate!

We put together a great mixed bag today, catching multiple species and making plenty of memories along the way. Nothing beats good company, bent rods, and a livewell full of fish!

Thanks for spending the day on the water with me. I had a blast fishing with you and hope to see you back in the boat again soon for another adventure! 🎣🌧️🐟

Trip #2 today was with guide Mike.

Today I had the pleasure of taking an awesome family from Kansas City out for a morning of trout fishing on the river. The morning was calm and absolutely beautiful, with a light fog hanging over the water as we made our way to our first spot.

It didn’t take long before Carlos hooked into a beautiful 16-inch trout. Unfortunately, we had to release her, but we were able to put together a limit of trout that looks like it’ll make for a great dinner tonight.

What a wonderful family to spend the day with. They came to take it all in and enjoy everything the river has to offer. Having fished with us several times before, they knew all the guides by name and understood exactly what a day on the water is all about. They’ve experienced great days, slower days, and everything in between, but they always come with the right attitude.

They weren’t here just to catch fish—they were here to make memories, and that’s exactly what we did today. Sharing laughs, enjoying the beauty of the river, and spending quality time together made for a day none of us will soon forget.

Thank you for fishing with us again. We truly appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you back on the water soon.

Tight lines,

Captain Peeps 🎣
