A friendly reminder from your travel agency: here are two important rule changes to keep on your radar before your next trip:

REAL ID for U.S. Flights: Starting May 2025, a REAL ID–compliant driver’s license (or a passport) will be required to fly domestically within the U.S. Check your license for a star marking — if it’s missing, you’ll need to get a REAL ID or travel with your passport.

UK Entry Requirements: Traveling to the United Kingdom? U.S. travelers are now required to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before entering the UK — even for short stays. It’s a quick online application, but it must be completed and approved before departure.

Atlanta airport announced that it will be adjusting its parking rates for the first time since 2017. Hartsfield-Jackson officials state that the changes are a response to the nation’s current economic climate, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Atlanta metropolitan area rising approximately 30% since the facility’s last parking increase.

According to a press release, the airport has seen significant increases in parking-related operational costs and has taken on new debt to construct and modernize parking infrastructure. We suggest parking off site at a lot like Fast Park & Relax!

Please Note: Effective for travel May 7, 2025 forward, the REAL ID Act standards for identification while traveling will be in effect. This means a standard issued driver’s license used as a form of identification will no longer be accepted for domestic air travel within the United States.

Instead, a Real ID compliant form of identification must be presented both at the time of booking air travel and upon checking in at the airport to board any flight.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, you should check if your current ID meets the REAL ID standards. If it does not, you should visit your state's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) website to learn how to upgrade to a REAL ID-compliant credential. “ETIAS will start operations in the last quarter of 2026. No action is required from travellers at this point. The European Union will inform about the specific date for the start of ETIAS several months prior to its launch.”
