Another update on

is now a historic category 5 hurricane with winds near 160 mph and could get a little bit stronger before it begins to weaken a little upon approach to Florida. It is still forecasted to be a major hurricane when it makes landfall. Tropical storm, hurricane and storm surge watches are in effect for a large portion of Florida. Storm surge may be near 12 feet + around Tampa Bay where the center makes landfall on Wednesday. Winds over 100 mph will stretch east into the Orlando area. If you’re along the path, please take all precautions to protect life and property and listen to local officials when it comes to evacuation orders. Power outages will also be extensive and long lasting in some areas. www.hurrtracker.com

Breaking - The NHC has initiated advisories in TD 14 in the Gulf of Mexico. It is forecasted to become Hurricane before making landfall along the west coast of FL mid-week near Tampa, possibly as a 110 mph category 2 hurricane, maybe even a major. This storm will have the potential of causing impacts to a large portion of the Florida peninsula. Storm surge, flooding rains and hurricane force winds will all be impactful for Florida.
