🌊 Cruise Value Post: “3 Things That Save You Money on Every Cruise”
If you’re trying to cruise smarter (not spend more), here are three things that make a real difference every single trip:

1️⃣ Bring your own refillable water bottle
Most ships have water stations, and buying bottled water adds up fast. A good insulated bottle saves money and keeps you hydrated on hot port days.

2️⃣ Skip the ship’s WiFi unless you truly need it
Cruise WiFi is pricey and slow. Download movies, playlists, and maps before you sail. You’ll save money and actually enjoy being unplugged.

3️⃣ Pack a small first‑aid kit
Band‑Aids, motion sickness meds, pain relievers — all of it is way cheaper at home. Buying it onboard costs 3–4x more.

Little things add up, and these three save me money every single cruise.

Did you know you can take a ferry from Florida to the Bahamas? 🚢🌴
Fort Lauderdale → Bimini in just 2 hours or Freeport in 3!

It’s cheaper than flying, passport REQUIRED, and you might even spot dolphins on the way.

Would you try it?

⭐ Cruising During Hurricane Season — What You Should Know 🌧️🚢
If you’ve ever thought about booking a cruise during hurricane season, here’s the truth:
It’s totally doable — you just need to know how it works.

🌪️ When is hurricane season?
June 1st through November 30th
(With the peak usually mid‑August through early October.)

🌧️ What happens if you book a cruise during hurricane season?
Cruise lines — especially Carnival — track storms constantly.
If a storm is near your itinerary, they will:

✔️ Reroute the ship to safer ports
✔️ Reverse the itinerary
✔️ Swap ports entirely
✔️ Extend or shorten sea days
✔️ Avoid the storm at all costs

Cruise ships do NOT sail into hurricanes. Safety is the priority.

🛑 Will your cruise get canceled?
It’s rare.
Most of the time, the ship simply changes ports or adjusts the route.

🌴 What YOU should expect:
– You may not visit the exact ports listed
– You’ll still get a full cruise
– You’ll stay far away from the storm
– The captain will update guests as needed

💡 Tips if you’re cruising during hurricane season:
– Buy travel insurance (this is the big one)
– Be flexible with ports
– Don’t book non‑refundable excursions independently
– Keep an eye on weather the week before
– Expect last‑minute changes — and roll with it

🌈 The upside?
Hurricane season often has the best cruise prices of the year.

If you’ve ever booked a cruise, you’ve probably had at least one nightmare about missing your ship. Follow these tips to make sure that never happens.

1️⃣ Fly or drive in the day BEFORE your cruise
Weather delays, traffic, and missed connections are the #1 reason people miss embarkation. Coming in the night before removes almost all the risk.

2️⃣ Book your excursions through the cruise line
If a Carnival‑booked excursion runs late, the ship waits.
If a private tour runs late… it doesn’t.

3️⃣ Stay on “ship time,” not local time
Your phone may switch time zones automatically — the ship does NOT.
Set your phone to manual time or wear a watch.

4️⃣ Give yourself a buffer when returning to the ship
If all‑aboard is 3:30 PM, aim for 2:45.
Port traffic, long lines, and tender boats can all slow you down.

5️⃣ Know the difference between all‑aboard and departure time
All‑aboard is usually 30 minutes before the ship actually leaves.
That’s the time that matters.

6️⃣ Get travel insurance
If something goes wrong — flight delays, medical issues, missed connections — travel insurance can help cover the cost of catching up to the next port.

7️⃣ Keep your passport/ID with you in port
If you do miss the ship, you’ll need your documents to fly to the next port. Never leave them in your cabin.
