Fort Myers Beach Pier update.
🚧 Construction is underway at the Fort Myers Beach Pier, and safety around the project remains a top priority.
If you’re visiting the beach near the pier, please remember:
✅ Stay outside construction fencing, barriers and restricted areas.
✅ Follow posted signs, detours and directions from construction crews.
✅ Treat the water surrounding the pier as an active construction zone.
🚫 Do not swim, wade, fish, boat or operate personal watercraft near construction operations.
🚫 Do not walk through closed portions of the beach or construction area.
🚫 Do not look directly at welding activities, which can emit harmful UV rays.
When access near the pier is restricted, use Times Square to exit the beach. Follow the sidewalk along Estero Boulevard around the construction area, then re-enter the beach beyond Lynn Hall. Use the same route in reverse when traveling the other direction.
Coming soon: Crews will begin installing the new concrete piles. A 150-foot safety perimeter will be established around active operations and may temporarily affect nearby beach access.
Pile driving will create noticeable vibration and loud, repetitive construction noise. Crews anticipate installing approximately three piles per day, weather and field conditions permitting, as work progresses from the landward end toward the end of the pier.
Thanks for helping keep beach-goers and construction crews safe!
