Been a little silent over social media lately. After losing my family member to Covid-19, I wanted to spend a little more time focusing on the boys. We have enjoyed moments cooking & baking together, putting together Star Wars sets, drawing together by watching online art classes with & painting plain old garden rocks using acrylic paint we bought online from .
——
Non pandemic life moved so fast. I felt like these moments were hard to come by before bc there was always a place to be & always somewhere we were late to get to.
——
After a rollercoaster ride of coronavirus quarantine ups & downs, I have finally settled into feeling grateful. Thankful for my health, the time I’m getting to spend with my husband & two rambunctious boys, the love of my extended family, Zoom & FaceTime happy hours with my gal pals & those amazing individuals who surround me in my local community.
——
Discovering the beauty of home has been an amazing journey for me too.....
——-
What have you been doing with your quarantine time? How has staying put impacted your daily ritual?

Social distancing. Shelter in place. Quarantine. Worldwide pandemic.
——-
My message needed to speak volumes. I can’t physically be with my mother this year & I wanted to send her something special to act as a great reminder of the partner who stood beside her during her child rearing years.
——
Customizing & ordering my print was super easy. I was glad I could also add a frame so that it was complete & Abuelita could begin enjoying & displaying her right away.
——
Let’s just say this gift made a huge impact.
——
Tears came from my mom when she opened her - the reminder of the man that lifted her up & stood by her side all the years of motherhood was emotional.
—-
They also came from me when my mother sent the photo of her gift alongside my dad’s hat.
——
Those were the dusty West Texas roads my late father would wander & that was the hat that shielded his face from the rays of the intense summer sun.
——
Roads really do have meaning.

|| Mom makes life sweet🍬This Mother’s Day is unique. When you can’t physically be together to celebrate thru all the social distancing, it was important to find the right way to share my gratitude.

Abuelita turned 70 this year & bc she is in an age group that is among the most vulnerable right now, it is unknown when I can give her a hug or her grandchildren can hold her hands again safely. My message needed to be personal & unique enough to act as a great reminder of the moments that mattered most.
——
My mom used to say that raising a family was a partnership. Some moms look to their community or extended family for support. My mother always leaned on my father & said that child rearing was a blessing with a partner like him beside her.
——
Sadly, my father is no longer with us. But, our family has fond memories of a certain place along a dusty road out in West Texas, right outside the town of Marfa that will always remind us of him.
——
That is where our heart lives.
——
And...thanks to I was able to create a specialize print, add a frame & send it directly to my mother who happens to live in another US city.

Be good to yourself. Especially now.
—-
Pictured some RE9 Advanced Anti-Aging Skincare Line samples from - plus, 2 of my fave ABC Baby Care products that I liked for myself (also ) -
——
Cathie had contacted me right before the world changed due to & my oh my i can’t say how nice it has been to be able to pamper myself just a tiny bit through all this crazy.
—-
She added a little note about why was good for a family like ours that was - botanical based ingredients, vegan, gluten free, clinically tested & cruelty free. There was however an * saying product certifications vary 🤔 so I guess it is on a product by product basis 🤷🏼‍♀️ something to ponder if vegan &/or gluten free ingredients are pain points for you.
—-
Not everything she sent me worked for my skin type but here are the 5 things I did enjoy:
🔹facial cleanser
🔹night repair cream
🔹corrective eye cream
And.....from the baby line i liked the body lotion & the sunscreen SPF 30.
——
For reference, I usually use Tata Harper nourishing oil cleanser, Elta MD PM Therapy night cream, Peter Thomas Roth potent-c power eye cream, MD skincare all in one tinted moisturizer sunscreen SPF 15 & Palmer’s coconut oil body lotion.
——
With no spas open for facials, how are y’all pampering your face nowadays?

Without salons I have been perpetually going around with my hair piled on top of my head in some form of messy bun with greys showing galore. But, for the guys in the Kid Allergy family, it hasn’t been so easy bc they were used to sporting a short hairdo. The Mop Top situation was beginning to push the little one over the edge so we did a crash course on cutting hair online in about 15 minutes & my husband tried his hand.

Anybody else found their true calling as a hairstylist? 🙋🏾‍♂️🙋🏽🙋‍♀️

Sadly, they didn’t have any available this day so Kid Allergy had to bring an allergen free treat from home. (TIP: does offer donuts — be more prepared than me & preorder!)
So instead, the gluten eaters indulged & then mom/dad got to wash down our donuts with some tasty coffee!
——
I hope everyone else out there got an opportunity to make special memories together this weekend (even if y’all don’t celebrate Easter!). It’s nice to remember that this time is a gift to be able to embrace the weirdness & see the bright side of it no matter where we are out there & no matter what we do or don’t celebrate.

Who else feels like they have just stepped into a new dimension filled with chaos, secrecy & anomalies like those found here during my visit to Meow Wolf in ??

——
Things have changed so quickly that I have been somewhat silent over the last week or so. shut the doors of my husbands company in the food industry, my kids needed constant attention & direction to find a routine through telecommuting, gluten free food & toilet paper have been impossible to find & then a relative sadly lost the battle to over the weekend.
——
These are strange times but sometimes you gotta accept your new reality & go along for the bumpy ride.

Per our pediatrician, booking unnecessary travel right now during a worldwide pandemic isn’t advised with an underlying medical condition & just today changed the regulation stating we had to book travel within one year of purchase. 🎉🎉🎉Thanks to this change, our family doesn’t have to book right now during such an unknown environment. (Whew!)
——
Mexico....we can’t wait to see you again. We were so bummed to have to cancel our Spring Break Trip.
Bali & Thailand.....we are equally disappointed to have to postpone travel to your incredible shores this summer.
——
Today the Kid Allergy Travel family is able to dream without worry bc we know we can book these destinations again when it is safe for our family to do so.
—-
And....after a telecommuting geography lesson last week, the two boys have added China, Egypt & Mauritius onto our next.
—-
Where is your next destination??? What country, city or region is calling you?
