🗺️ Royal Caribbean just dropped its 2028-2029 deployment schedule, and there's exciting news for early planners! New sailings are rolling out in waves starting the week of September 28th, with Europe, Alaska, and Caribbean itineraries hitting the booking calendar first. The cruise line is expanding its European footprint with Legend of the Seas (the new Icon Class ship) joining the fleet there this summer, plus more ships moving to California and Australia. Pro tip from the blog: prices are lowest when new sailings first go on sale — before the supply-and-demand algorithm kicks in. 📅💰

Royal Caribbean Group just dropped two major stories today, and the fleet expansion news is absolutely fire. First up, the company officially kicked off construction on its fifth Icon Class ship at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland — a keel-laying ceremony that marks yet another milestone in Royal Caribbean's aggressive push to dominate the ultra-large vessel market.

The Icon Class line (in order): Icon of the Seas (2023), Star of the Seas (2025), Legend of the Seas (2026), Hero of the Seas (2027), and the unnamed fifth ship (2028). The continued investment in Icon Class signals that RCL isn't just riding the wave of mega-ship demand — it's building its own tsunami.

Harmony of the Seas — Royal Caribbean Oasis-Class Giant.

This majestic 226,838-ton cruise ship, one of the largest passenger vessels in the world, sits docked at a Royal Caribbean terminal. Built in 2016, Harmony of the Seas measures 1,188 feet long and carries up to 6,780 people.

Now homeported out of Port Canaveral, Florida, Harmony sails weekly Caribbean itineraries featuring Perfect Day at CocoCay, Cozumel, and more. The ship was recently refurbished in 2026 with a redesigned Solarium, new Samba Grill Brazilian Steakhouse, Lime & Coconut Bar, and expanded Casino Royale.

Harmony features the Ultimate Abyss — the tallest waterslide at sea — two FlowRider surf simulators, a zip line, rock-climbing walls, an ice rink, Central Park with live plants, and Boardwalk with a giant Ferris wheel.

Cruising Into the Coral. 🌊

To kick off World Ocean Month, Royal Caribbean Group joined Inter Miami CF and Miami-based nonprofit REEFLINE for a high-profile coral restoration event off Miami Beach, dropping in a joint $30,000 contribution to support REEFLINEs groundbreaking Concrete Coral installation — a submerged sculpture park featuring 22 life-sized car sculptures that double as artificial reef habitat.

First Team players Yannick Bright, Ian Fray, Gonzalo Lujan, Facundo Mura, and Mateo Silvetti joined the effort, touring the installation and diving into the ocean literacy mission.

Hero of the Seas Floats — Icon Class Now Four Deep

Royal Caribbean fourth Icon Class mega-ship, Hero of the Seas, officially floated for the first time at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, marking a major construction milestone ahead of its August 2027 Miami debut.

The float-out — powered by over 90 million gallons of water filling the dry dock overnight — kicks off the outfitting phase where the ships 28 dining venues, nine pools, and the three-deck Ultimate Family Treehouse come to life.

Hero will also feature the brand-new Orleans Parrish Supper Club and a record-breaking 28 dining spots across eight neighborhoods.
