For this trip, we were celebrating our birthdays onboard. Rijkayla and I decided to treat each other to an onboard activity as a gift 🎁

While her gift to me was an escape room, my gift to her was lunch at Izumi Hibachi! I opted for this because it’s the only location onboard that doesn’t offer a menu item in another dining location like Main Dining Room or Windjammer

We both got the Izumi plate that includes lobster and scallops. When dining here, you get the salad, fried rice, veggies, choice of entree, and a dessert. You can mix and match the meat options if you like.

While she opted for the melting chocolate cake 🍰, I got mochi ice cream. If you want to see the inside of mochi ice cream, make sure you check my stories 😎

This was my favorite meal onboard because the hibachi chef was so entertaining! He made everyone laugh, smile, and participate in the fun. He even had our table sing 🎶 Happy Birthday 🎶

“What is there to do for the littles?” You may ask this question when planning a cruise. It’s a valid question and Royal Caribbean answered!

Welcome to part of the new area onboard Icon Class ships - Surfside. You’ll find this splash pad and pool spot called Splashaway Bay. This is perfect for littles who cannot swim or who need to be in swim diapers.

As a parent to a toddler, I absolutely LOVED this area and could see Bug hogging the slides 😅🤣
There’s lots of ways to play here!

Parents can relax and grab a drink at The Lemon Post bar which is right next to Splashaway Bay. You’ll also have games and activities everyone can enjoy during the day.

I’m so happy Royal Caribbean added this area specifically for littles. We found ourselves on other ships struggling to find something for Bug to do and it left us disappointed. 😔

This is one of the many reasons we’ll keep cruising with Royal Caribbean. 😎

While I’ve been showing you all the fun things, I need to share WHY you should cruise. Here are my top 3 reasons:

1. A smorgasbord of food options - and most of them are included!

2. Lots of activities onboard. Most are complimentary while some are paid.

3. Unpack once, experience multiple destinations. No constant unpacking, transferring, and dealing with traffic here!

These are my top 3 reasons you should cruise. When you think about it, this makes a cruise more cost effective. Less costs getting to a destination means you get more fun and can use that money towards excursions!

What’s your favorite snack when you travel?

For this trip, mine is the bread pudding! You can only get it in the Windjammer buffet for breakfast on Royal Caribbean cruise ships. I’ve had this on my plate each morning.

The bread pudding is soooo good and the vanilla sauce adds the best flavor and texture. I believe I could eat the whole pan of bread pudding if the crew would let me 🤣

It might take me a while, but I’d finish it 🤪

Day 4 - Sea Day

Today’s a relaxing day at sea! Here’s a sneak peek of a couple areas where you may spend a decent amount of time on your cruise.

One is Central Park - where you have specialty dining options and 30,000 plants to see! This location doesn’t get too loud as it’s not bar heavy or an area where there’s loud music during the day.

Royal Promenade - here, you’ll find your shopping, nighttime entertainment, and The Pearl. Royal Promenade is two levels. One level has shopping, entertainment and bars. The second offers Giovanni’s Italian specialty dining, Pearl Cafe (complimentary), and more entertainment. This is one of the areas of the ship where you’ll find the most people due to the entertainment offered here. You’ll also have Sorrento’s Pizza which offers late night bites.

Day 3

Today, we’re at Perfect Day Coco Cay in the Bahamas!

Since I’ve been to Coco Cay a few times, I wanted to explore a new area. Royal Caribbean added an adults only area called Hideaway Beach where adults can escape from the kids and enjoy their time.

There’s an infinity pool with a swim up bar, a couple more bars around the area, a separate food area just for Hideaway guests, and two types of cabanas.

There’s also a private swimming cove with a beach where you can swim, float, snorkel, or do whatever you want! You don’t have to worry about lack of seating here as there are chairs and seating for everyone.

Hideaway Beach is a paid area that ranges in price depending on when you book. We managed to get in for around $35 on a good deal offered a couple months ago. We were entering the area with others who paid $76 today as they did not book ahead of time.

This is why it’s important to keep an eye on your emails and Royal Caribbean app before your cruise. You never know what kind of deals they’ll drop!

Day 2 - Sea Day

We started the day with a delicious breakfast from Windjammer. We love the buffet onboard because there are so many options. I obviously had to have the bread pudding as it reminds me of one of my happy places 🏰

We then headed to the Escape Room. This one is a record shop theme where you have to go back in time to see where the gremlins took the records. It’s set in the 80s and you have to solve the puzzles so we can experiences all our favorite hits.

We completed the escape room with 18 minutes and 30 seconds to spare! Since we beat the gremlins and saved the beloved hits from the 80s, we get to go home with a record themed iron-on patch.

Can’t wait to add this patch to my shirt! I was so excited for this prize 😆
