🤤 Fantastic Foods Part Two! 🤤

There are so many flavors to try in Japan with influences from other countries all across the globe to traditional meals only found in Japan.

Featuring in these photos:
🍜 Ramen (..lots and lots of ramen was consumed!)
🥖Philly Cheesesteak from a local legend who fell in love with Philly & brought that love to Tokyo with homemade bread and cheese whiz!
🍱Bento set boxes with lots of little flavors.

🍕 Wood fired pizza with a view
🍤 Mc Donald’s Japan exclusive shrimp sandwich

This is definitely an all you can eat vacation spot!

🤤Fantastic foods part one!🤤

You know I have to give it up for the street foods first, it’s honestly come to be my favorite food when traveling to new places. You really get a taste of what the locals eat and the smaller portions means you get to experience even more then you would during a sit down meal.

Some highlights from street food we tried include:
🍡Dango (I could eat these forever)
🐟Assorted sushi & other sea foods at the world famous Tsukiji Fish Market.
🧀 The 10yen cheese coin.
🍓 Seasonal strawberry tanghulu
As well as some other assorted snacks on sticks from different stalls leading up to a temple!

✨TeamLabs has two separate interactive art exhibits in Tokyo.

One is called Borderless where all of the art in each room is fluid and ever changing. You can visit one room two or even three times and it will be completely different based on what’s going on around it.

The second one is called Planets and is very hands on, you can explore more physically with the exhibits in Planets and feel different textures beneath your feet as it is predominantly done bare foot. My favorite was a room where you walked in calf deep water and projected koi fish would curiously swim alongside you. If the bumped into you they would burst into flowers!

Both locations definitely need 2 hours to explore and are well worth the experience. Be sure to get there early though as first entry is always the best for most things in Tokyo! ✨

🥷Ninja Tokyo is a must while in Japan. From the immersive world they create behind a hidden speakeasy style entrance, to the absolutely perfect food (both in presentation and flavors) they really know how to do dinner right.

There is even some hidden secrets I can’t give away about the experience that you will just have to go and see for yourself! 🥷🖤

Dave and I got to try on Kimono’s and wear them for the day through a locally owned rental company. The lady who helped us get dress has been in the industry for over 40 years and did an incredible job at making us look good! 🩷

We spent the day checking out some nearby shrines as well as Sensō-ji Temple. Which is Tokyo's oldest-established temple, & one of its most significant. (It is dedicated to Kannon, the bodhisattva of compassion.) It was such a beautiful day & it was an amazing experience to get to connect with the local culture in such a beautiful way. 🖤

🩷 We got very lucky & found some of the first cherry blossom blooms of the year!

Did you know cherry blossom season which traditionally starts in March is considered peak season and the busiest time to visit Japan. It can be well worth the crowds though to get to see these beautiful blooms! 🩷

So far we have visited a handful of shrines & temples, each one unique in its own way. The smell of incense greets you as you approach, make sure to bow once at the torii gate before entering. When visiting go slow and really take it all in. The small details are spectacular!

🇯🇵Tokyo update!🇯🇵

✨Shibuya Excel Hotel is killing it with the location. Our room has a view of the famous Shibuya Scramble & it’s connected to the Shibuya Station which has 14 platforms that will get you anywhere in the city!

🛌 The rooms here range from cozy to spacious and have all the best features that you would find in a standard Japanese hotel like a (short) but deep tub & the most high tech toilet I have ever used!

🦹‍♀️ The front desk staff are also super hero’s and not only are bilingual but they have offer some amazing recommendations, answered questions, and given us great directions for navigating where we want to go!

🏝️My guests just arrived home from their Western Caribbean Cruise & sent me some adorable pictures of their little rubber duck that they took with them on all their adventures! 🦆🖤

I just had to share these cute photos, what a clever way to document your travels with a little friend. They even found hidden ducks onboard other guests had placed so they came home with more friends!! 🤩
