It’s funny, as travel nurses we can choose a place by the season. We chose to be in Seattle, WA from June through September, and it’s been beautiful, sunny and 75. So when the weather starts to change your activities tend to change with it. New to us, was a cloudy Seattle day, which is hilarious to think about because everyone in the world knows Seattle as cloudy and rainy....

A feverish craving for noodles, a delicious broth, and pork belly can linger in your body taking control of your thoughts and stomach. This feeling won't go away until you subdue it. Conquer it, or find that ramen joint. Relatively close in proximity to the downtown Ballard scene there is, Arashi Ramen (Also in Tukwila, WA). Master Chef Daisuke Ueda apparently splits his time in between the two restaurants and creates a beautiful dish of savory noodle soup....

Tonight was an absolute treat! Sarah's coworker knew we were staying in Ballard and gave us a prime, pun intended, recommendation of a steakhouse close by the house. Asadero is a Mexican restaurant which specializes in, you guessed it, StEaK. Walking down the street you could see the the restaurant which had a quaint outdoor seating area with a rain cover, so dont be afraid to come out if its drizzling, it is Seattle by the way....

Crazy thoughts arrived in my mind when I was asked to go to the Mariner's game on Sunday. I was coming off a night shift... in this agreeable delirium haze I wasn't entirely sure what I agreed to. Let me explain. After 12 hours of overnight work, decisions are made like a drunk toddler with optimism, trying to take the big wheel for a ride....

So in recent times there are many ways to find a place to chow down on some delicious bites, but finding a good pizza joint that has cocktails… ehh, Im not sure if i was going to make it happen. However, after perusing a few recommendations and a quick Yelp search, Von’s stood out above the competition. 1,800 reviews! and a “oh yeah a a few people from work recommended Von’s”…we had to try it out for ourselves....

Heading out to Pier 56 for the Sunset Sail through SailingSeattle.com. It’s a 2 hour Sunset Sail from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Its BYOB or you are can buy wine and platters on their website. We were able to purchase some pre-beers at the host desk. Ranier beer special! Motored out! on the Neptune Car, a 38 person capacity sailing vessel. Sitting on the deck and enjoying our first few beers while the motor sputtered our way into Puget Sound....

Light poked through the blackout curtains this morning and woke me up fairly early, that’s Summertime in Seattle I guess! Getting ready for the Water Taxi ride over to Vashon island. We’re using the King County Water taxi (click here). For this event they are running a shuttle every hour for the day! We’re bringing some reusable water bottles with us because this is a “no waste event”!...
