The packing cubes have officially been laid off for the season and they are NOT taking it well 😂

One minute they’re organized chaos in a carry-on, the next they’re empty and folded in a drawer while we all pretend summer didn’t just fly by.

There’s a special kind of sadness in that switch — from “perfectly organized suitcase system” to “just sitting there collecting dust” 🥲

But real ones know the travel brain doesn’t clock out just because the calendar says school time.

Summer trips are done, but the travel planning isn’t — it just means the next trip just has to wait for the next set of days off.

Honestly, that’s exactly why I love helping people plan their travel ahead.

Another stop on our Coastal Main Trip: Castle Tucker in Wiscasset, Maine!

Built in 1807 high on a hill overlooking the Sheepscot River, this Georgian mansion has quite the story. It was originally home to Judge Silas Lee, who named it “Elm Lawn” — but everything changed in 1858 when the Tucker family, prominent Wiscasset shipping merchants, bought the place and lived there for nearly 150 years. Their furniture, portraits, and family belongings are still inside, making it feel less like a museum and more like a time capsule.

We can’t get enough of these old New England homes — there’s something about walking through rooms that have been lived in for over a century that hits different. Now maintained by Historic New England, Castle Tucker is open for tours June through October if you ever find yourself in Wiscasset.

The views are stunning and imagine the views come peak fall foliage time?! We may need to go back just for those.
