More specifically, I teach music theory, ear training, sight reading, and basic musicianship with an applied instrument - piano and voice being my instruments of focus. With voice instruction/training/coaching I strive to find the student's natural voice and from there guide them in accepting, nurturing, and honoring their personal, unique instrument. Singing is more than just the technical or phy

sical (which is important) but, it's even more an incredibly emotional and psychological endeavor to find command (not control!) of your voice and to apply it in a musical and authentically expressive way. The biggest hurdles I come across with my new students is this acceptance, and a discovery that what's been the problem for them all along has been a belief of how their voice is supposed to sound or work.
